Griffen was trying to get a job. He insulted the guy Spielman and Zimmer chose as their QB. He's potentially a distraction in the locker room with the most important position on the team. He's not good enough enough anymore for his distractions to be ignored. He's just doing the sensible thing and trying to smooth any issues over.
