What does Mike Zimmer want to see from the Vikings offense this week and Friday in KC? "Touchdowns, to be honest with you. ... If you’re going to throw 5-yard checkdowns all day long, it takes 20 of them, so. We’d like to get the ball down the field a little bit more.”

The ellipsis in the full Zimmer quote included: "We need to have some success. I think they’re confident, but you know confidence comes when you play well and you show it. I really don’t want to go into the first ball game and we haven’t looked crisp or sharp."

Preseason games do matter.

We have a new OC and WR coach along with a host of young players, new FA players, players off injury/tweaks etc

This 3rd preseason game is going to matter like they all do.  Not W/L or score but actual situational performance.

This coming from the coach of a team with one of the best deep passers in the NFL. Translation: Don't start slow. And get the wrinkles ironed out now. For example,  if Kirk Cousins played the whole season like he did over the last 10 games, he would've had 4,464 passing yards, 38 TDs, and 5 INTs. Those are MVP-level numbers.
