Rainy Sunday. Went to see A Quiet Place Part Two.

Excellent film.

Theater was about 1/4 full.  Was nice to be back.

Man, with our streaming services, I dont know how often I will be back in the theatre...Although I freely admit I like the excitement of going to a great flick, a box of raisinets, smell of popcorn  - something home cant match. Never will.

I think we're going to see more and more joint releases for home and theatre.

I see where Spielberg just signed a big contract with Netflix - harbinger of more to come and highlights how Hollywood Biz Model is evolving.

I have a 75 inch TV with sound bar and a couch with recliners and cup holders, I don't anticipate going to the movies anytime soon.

I've been looking at doing a private theater rental. You can still do it for less than $150 for up to 20 people. And A Quiet Place Pt II was one of the movies available. Hmmm...

Interesting, what is included for that price?  Inexpensive for that many people!

Just the movie, but you can add on snacks. Older movies run about $120. Current ones are $150. The price is the same up to 20 people. But if you want to be Daddy Big Bucks you can rent it and have the theater all to yourself :)

I haven't been excited about a in-theater movie in years. That's my criteria for going, not my awesome home theater setup. Make a damn interesting or exciting movie, Hollywood.

The last movie I went to in the theaters was Avengers: End Game. The private theater rental would be cool. I don't want to be in a crowded theater. Besides they keep remaking everything. Come up with an original idea and I'll think about it. I agree PF, the streaming services definitely help. I enjoyed the hell out of my setup this year though.

I agree with Sticky, it's been a long time since there was a "must see in theatre" movie for me...This period of Marvel doesn't have much sway with me.

Is it sad that I am one of those folks who is excited for new movies to come out in theater just so I can wait for it to eventually get uploaded to one of those streaming services so I can watch at home? I dont know what it is but I prefer watching at home as opposed to being worried about sharing/claiming an arm rest vs a stranger.

The movie industry in general has been pretty stale for quite a while.  It seems like Disney and others have basically killed creativity, which is kind of crazy to say.  I see very few movies that don't have one of the following:  1.  Cartoon themed.   2.  Super Heroes   3.  Parts 2-10.   4. Remakes   5.  Boring

Or maybe I'm just getting old.  It's terrifically hard to find anything that has excited me of late.
