You know, if it's my list, I'm putting the guy who was:

One of two defenders in NFL history to be named league MVP
Two time DPOY
All Pro 9 times
236 consecutive game starting streak
28 blocked kicks
23 fumble recoveries
150 unofficial career sacks (which would be first for IDL)
4 time Super Bowler
1 losing season in his career as a Viking

But, maybe that's just me.

Right, but those are just stats and accolades. Remember, he was a sieve against the run in those 4 SB's  :p

Weird how 4 other defenders didn't come under such scrutiny.

Definitely.
AD is one of the all time best and other than Moss may have been the most physically gifted player ever in purple, but I would take Foreman as my favorite Viking RB.  He was the complete RB, an amazing receiver and the best RB I have ever seen in the open field.  He was also a great leader.
Just depends on the criteria you're using. Favorite? Most successful? Most talented? Chuck Foreman was probably my favorite, but AD was one of the most talented RBs to ever play the game. As good as he was, Foreman wasn't quite on that level.
Sure a strong case can be made for either...

Foreman was so graceful and really did an awful lot of things that RB's weren't doing in those days, nor could AP ever do em.

As far as a pure runner? Power? Peterson is about as good is it ever gets/got. I met him a # of times in person and I could not imagine for the life of me how anyone could tackle that man.

AD had the best combination of moves, power and speed I've ever seen.

Graceful is a good way to describe Foreman.

As a runner, AD >> Foreman

As a multipurpose back, Foreman >> AD

As a camel jockey...

Foreman revolutionized the way the league saw/used the position,  it likely would have happened eventually,  but he was the first to have the combination of skills to make it happen.   After Foreman it really opened up the discussion and definition of a "complete back" which is something that AD (apparently) never had the desire/ability to be.   Power and Speed,  AD had it hands down,  but its really not that simple,  especially when comparing players who played 30 years apart and how much the league/players/game etc has evolved.

Definitely an honorable mention, but when your competition is Hunter, Marshall, Eller, Doleman, etc.

Wait, where's Alan Page? Gotta put him over Millard.

Not saying JA was a one trick pony, but giddyup.

Don't recall Millard being a NT.  I would have to go with Pat Williams or Linval Joseph.  Probably Joseph.  Would take Harrison over Krause.  Fuad over Longwell.

I thought about Harry over Krause, but then I looked at Krause's numbers: 8 time pro bowl, 3-time 1st team all pro. Smith: 5 time pro bowl, 1-time 1st team all pro. Plus, Krause had 81 picks. One of the NFL records which will never be broken. The closest active player is about 50 behind.

I don't remember much of Krause.  I didn't watch games until the late 80s as we didn't have a TV growing up.  I listened on the radio before that, so I don't have much recollection of Krause.  But my older brothers say he was sort of that one trick pony as well.  His INT record is crazy, but when you had the purple people eaters harrassing QBs every play, it was a feast for the free safety.

This franchise has it covered when you are discussing WR, OL, and DL.

The OL is insane with Zimmerman-McDaniel-Mick-Hutch-Yary
DL is deep & talented as they come: Page, Randle, Doleman, Eller, Rhinestone Cowboy, Fat Pat, Kevin Williams, Henry Thomas (should be in the HOF), Millard, Linval
WR??? Moss, Carter, Carter, Rashad, Harvin, plus great performance seasons by Diggs, Adam, Rice, and Jefferson

A lot of all time greats there.

Exactly what I was going to say.  All these damn HOF'ers and not a signal trophy.

Page was the quickest DT off the snap I have ever seen. This, and other reasons already mentioned, I have to say I can't imagine any all Vikings team without him.

That he was...Close second was Millard, he damn near looked off-sides each snap.

Man, I loved Keith Millard. Broke my heart when he went down, think it was vs Bucs.

Both of those guys are as good as Aaron Donald, Page I would put even a notch or 2 above. I admit we're talking about 4 different era's of football too.

Keith Millard is one of my all time favorite Vikings. Joey Browner. Anthony Carter. Tommy Kramer. The D-line of Chris Doleman-Keith Millard-Henry Thomas-Al Noga was a blast to watch.

Uh...well....I wouldn't go that far. No one in history has done what Donald has done. Given the benefit of time, Donald will be unanimously recognized as the greatest defensive player of all time. He's already basically matched the number of 1st team all pros, defensive player of the year awards as Page, Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor, probably his biggest competitors. And Donald has done it in just 7 seasons. Page, White and Taylor played between 13 and 15 seasons.
