US Bank: no masks, full capacity, no vaccine requirements

I'm no anti-masker. I'm pro-vaccine. But I'm all for this. Enough is enough. We have to move on and for those that are either compromised or still apprehensive, you're going to either have to limit certain situations that you put yourself in or deal with it mentally.

I'm not taking a stance on this but it really surprises me given how strict the State of Minnesota has been with COVID. That being said, looking forward to US Bank being LOUD AF this year

Well, I don't really "trust the people". I mean, have you seen the videos of the people who claim the vaccine has made them magnetic? And I do wish the percentage of vaccinated people was higher. But as long as the vaccines continue to remain effective against new variants, I'm in. Last year the last thing I wanted was to be in a building where everyone was screaming, masks or not.

I've started planning out the season and have already had one friend say they won't be attending any games as they live with someone who has a compromised immune system. She's fully vaccinated but doesn't want to take any risks that will endanger anyone else at all. I can respect that. Do what you feel is best for you.

As for me, I'm looking forward to being in a seat at the Bank. SKOL!

Yep, agreed. The 'trust the people' thing wasn't what I was referring to, just that US Bank is now going to be wide open. I'm glad you mentioned that part because I don't agree with that sentiment, lol. If you 'trust the people' too much, dumb shit happens. Its why government intervention sometimes is required and necessary.

The honor system has no meaning because the anti-vaxxers were going to wear masks to protect themselves from vaccinated people. Ok whatever. I am looking forward to getting back to US Bank Stadium. You have to move forward and do what you can.

I don't trust most people either, but that didn't start when Covid hit.  As you stated in the OP, people can do what they feel comfortable with.  If they don't want to be around a bunch of screaming fanatics, then a stadium isn't the place for them.  There are more reasons than just covid that a place like that can be dangerous, alcohol being the chief reason.  But that is the beauty of freedom, we make choices and have to live with them.

I don’t think stereotyping a broad segment of the population
based on the caricatures of a few memes or headlines is progressing anything
forward.  If anything it just further increases tribalism.

We all should know by now that mainstream media and social
media tries to get your attention and outrage by showing the most extreme and
ridiculous things and pretending like they’re a frequent and persistent threat.

That's very fair and I agree. Though I will add that I did not use it to stereotype a broad segment of the population. But it was absolutely an example of why I do not "trust the people". There is a significant percentage of the population who have chosen not to vaccinate. (Note that the magnet lady and her friends were actually vaccinated) And as I stated, I wish the number vaccinated was higher as that does nothing to help stop the spread of the virus. But because I have chosen to get vaccinated, I feel comfortable entering the 'arena'. Everyone will have to make informed decisions on where they spend their time and worry about protecting themselves. Certainly, the person sitting shoulder to shoulder next to you and screaming SKOL in US Bank stadium isn't the one to trust to look out for you.

Pg 3: "HAS THE PFIZER-BIONTECHCOVID-19 VACCINE BEEN USED BEFORE?The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine.
In clinical trials, approximately 23,000 individuals 12 years of age
and older have received at least 1 dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine."
Pg 3: "These may not be all the possible side effects of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. Serious and unexpected side effects may occur. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccineis still being studied in clinical trials."
Pg 4: "ARE OTHER CHOICES AVAILABLE FOR PREVENTING COVID-19 BESIDES PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE? Currently, there is no approved alternative vaccine available for prevention of COVID-19. Other vaccines to prevent COVID-19 may be available under Emergency Use Authorization.

FDA may issue an EUA when certain criteria are met, which includes that
there are no adequate, approved, available alternatives. In addition,
the FDA decision is based on the totality of scientific evidence

potential benefits of the product outweigh the known and potential risks
of the product. All of these criteria must be met to allow for the
product to be used in the treatment of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Well, thanks for the posts but I believe that has been stated since the introduction of the vaccines. While it does not mean immunity it does help with the following at a very high rate of efficacy:
  • Prevent you from getting COVID-19 or from becoming seriously ill or dying due to COVID-19
  • Prevent you from spreading the COVID-19 virus to others
  • Add to the number of people in the community who are protected from getting COVID-19 — making it harder for the disease to spread and contributing to herd immunity
  • Prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading and replicating, which allows it to mutate and possibly become more resistant to vaccines
That works for me. Without it, I personally wouldn't be attending Vikings games this season.

Perhaps, but some of the articles I shared seems to contradict that.

Phizer CEO says third Covid vaccine dose likely needed within 12 months. He also said it’s possible people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually.https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/15/pfizer-ceo-says-third-covid-vaccine-dose-likely-needed-within-12-months.html

Vaccines 2.0: Next-generation COVID-19 shots will be cheaper, easier to deliver and protect against more viruses, industry leaders say
COVID-19 will not be a pandemic forever, but the virus that causes it will probably be around indefinitely, like the flu, said Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

"Are we going to need to give a vaccine as long as this virus exists in the world? I think the answer to that question is yes," Offit said. "So you're talking about decades, I would imagine."

Stanley
Erck, president and CEO of Novavax, which plans to release its
vaccine's effectiveness data soon, said his company's studies in monkeys
show that giving a booster dose a year after initial vaccination yields
"spectacular results."

"I think we're going to want to do that with humans," he said. "This isn't going to go away from a commercial point of view anytime in the future."

When throwing around numbers & exceptions, remember these numbers are rather minuscule, when considering some 315M doses have been given & some 148M have been fully vaccinated…

It's okay, it an expression of natural selection, and maybe one occasion I agree with Malthus and the lifeboat analogy.  I am good, plenty of folk around the world really want to be vaccinated, give it to them, close the free bar and pay as you go from here on out.

Those are the numbers for the first 6 months of breakthrough infection.  Those aren't the numbers for vax injury.  The CDC was supposed to have a meeting today about the cardiac issues with the youth, but they postponed it.

They might be minor, but remember the mask arguments?  Do you hate grandma?  We were supposed to wear masks to maybe just possibly reduce the chance of infection.

The same could have been argued about the survival rate prior to the when the injection came out.

Yeah that's only 600k, really I think you should not get vaccinated, you convinced me, but to late for me to make your point.  Go for it.

Agreed. And I am missing the part where the numbers posted actually contradict the 4 points about vaccinations. The statement was the vaccines are effective in helping at a high rate. It is still a very high rate. And if I need to get a booster shot annually, then great.

So, I still don't trust people :p . And look out for yourself (or not).
