QB Jamie Newman....yikes
He must suck out loud.
Jamie Newman's release is surprising in that the #Eagles typically take four QBs to camp, and at worst, Newman would have simply been a camp arm.

He couldn't even make it to camp.
I'll take Bad Decisions By Jamie Newman for 1000 Alex.
Oh man. Someone should put a list of all of the "Draft Scouts" that had Jamie Newman as their later round QB Sleeper pick as I guarantee there are a handful of them. I'm too lazy

When I watched them all, Jamie Newman stood out to me as the 2nd best looking QB after Kellen Mond among the 2nd tier QBs.
Then during Senior Bowl practices something happened. Can't remember what it was, but I remember thinking he may no longer be draftable. A story, an incident, can't remember. But it wouldn't surprise me if what I can't remember is related to why he was released so early. I mean to be released before training camp means there is some serious flaw the Eagles wanted no part of.
looks like the opt. out really caused too much rust. Wonder what his next move will be CFL?

I couldn't find anything. I did stumble onto this article (watch the first two highlights before getting to the newman portion): https://www.raiders.com/news/the-next-wave-biggest-takeaways-from-the-2021-senior-bowl:
"While quarterback Kellen Mond from Texas A&M took home Senior Bowl MVP honors, I was even more impressed with the man who came in under center after him. Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman stepped in and was able to make some impressive throws and show poise in the pocket on the Gulf Coast. Despite being sacked five times and throwing an interception, Newman finished the game with 114 yards and a touchdown and completed 71 percent of his passes, the highest completion rate of all quarterbacks in the game."
side note, also from the article I posted above:
"Patrick Jones II from Pittsburgh and Janarius Robinson from Florida State, both finished the game with 1.5 sacks and dominated the line of scrimmage for a large majority of the game. Jones finished his senior season with 44 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, nine sacks and a fumble recovery. Jones was also named a first-team All-American and first-team All-ACC. Robinson racked up 26 tackles, including seven for loss with three sacks his senior season."

It just shows the draft is such a guessing game, along with evaluating players. These guys sounds confident in their opinions, but they honestly know nothing in projecting players. Some are better than others, for sure, but assessing guys from one all star game is silly.

Unless the assessment is that Patrick Jones II and Janarius Robinson are good. Then it’s smart :p

LMAO, yes those are brilliant observations, definitely.
I'm trying to imagine what you have to do to make yourself so unwanted that you can't stick around just to be a camp arm.

@"JimmyinSD" said:Yep, and probably more than one thing. But it still takes a bunch to not even be a camp arm and get released this early in the NFL offseason.@"BarrNone55" said: I'm trying to imagine what you have to do to make yourself so unwanted that you can't stick around just to be a camp arm. it could be so many things.
Heard a rumor he failed the Colin Cowherd shower test.
