Starters: Darrisaw (D1) - Cleveland (D2) - Bradbury (D1) - Davis (D3) - O'Neill (D2)

Depth: Hill - Cole - Samia - Hinton - Udoh

Young, high-pedigree, high-upside starters. Really nice depth with a mix of youth and experience. Also, lowest paid OL in the NFL. I'm sure Darrisaw starts day one, but even if he's not ready and we need to start Hill, that's not going to kill us. Same with Cole and Davis. With Hinton going into year two, Samia may not even make the team. That will be a legit battle though since I would expect improvement from Samia as well.

Udoh is my dark horse. He could challenge for the RG spot if they move Cleveland to the left side.

Deserved potential among the pieces...Most in a long time and frankly to be expected after the draft capital expended the last 3 off-seasons.

I would expect Darrisaw to man the LT from day 1. Not an easy task for sure.

I'll be curious to see the schedule release and hopefully he's not on the road vs Khalil Mack or Z'Darius game 1 lol!

Davis? Not sure if/when he'll crack the line-up. I'd feel better with Cole in a back-up swing role tbh. Even with a history of decent pff grades @ og.

I really hate to say this but Dozier is in the mix as well to make the team.  As it stands right now Dozier and Cole are the backup centers.  It could be a battle between those two.

I'm usually not one for "no way" statements, but no way Dozier beats out Cole. Not only can Cole double as backup center, his PFF grade at LG last year was roughly double that of Dozier. Dozier also has to contend with small school phenom Kyle Hinton and 4th round draft pick, Dru Samia.

Udoh has been a fan favorite, but I don't think a team favorite. I think odds are he's more likely to be cut than make the roster.

The only Oline player over 30 is the deep snapper?

Rashod Hill turns 30 in January of 2021.

the "RS neglects the Oline " complaint for the last 9 years is about over.

The question is whether talent will prevail over relationships. Our coach values friendships  but maybe with his job on the line things may change.

Udoh was a small-school, 6th round project. In other words, an ideal candidate for the practice squad in 2019. However, the Vikings chose not to expose him, either his rookie season or in 2020, placing him on the active roster both seasons.

That suggests to me they might like him a little more than you think. What's more, the Vikings typically keep 4 tackles. Of course anything's possible, but unless you like Blake Brandel a whole big bunch, Udoh probably makes the 53 again.

There were times in past years that the best talent was not on the field or selected to be on the team

Hinton also can play center (eventually).  This is from after he was drafted: "Hinton, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, primarily played tackle in college. But he said he also can play on the interior at guard or center, and feels he fits in well with Minnesota's zone-blocking scheme."  And from Daily Norsemen in December: "Last time I heard, the Vikings were looking at at center...".  From Pioneer Press around the same time period: "Hinton played primarily tackle in college before being drafted as a guard. There also has been talk of grooming him to play some center in the future."

My guess is that Hinton will be the backup center this season.

Going to follow that up with how the approaches were different.  KC spent big money on new players.  We drafted them.  Will be interesting to see how it turns out, but our upgrade is much cheaper.
