Putting a bow on Diggs trade...
Final Tally:
To Buffalo:• Diggs, who led the league in receptions and yards receiving as a first-team All-Pro receiver last season.
• 2020 seventh-rounder Dane Jackson, a cornerback who had one interception in five games (one start).
To the Vikings:
• Justin Jefferson, the first-round pick who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie.
• Defensive end Kenny Willekes, a 2020 seventh-rounder who spent last year on injured reserve. The Vikings got this pick when they traded Buffalo's sixth-rounder to Baltimore.
• Bynum, who played corner at Cal but projects to safety in the NFL.
• Robinson, an inconsistent edge rusher who has all the tools that assistant coach and D-line Whisperer Andre Patterson looks for in an underachiever.
• Davidson
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
If any ONE of those players hits, it's advantage Vikings. But right now, it's just Diggs vs. Jefferson. In terms of talent, Diggs might still be the better player, but if you factor in age and contract, it's Vikings.
I agree MB...
As of now it would be hard to give one team a significant advantage over the other. That aint necessarily a bad thing either, and maybe the ideal trade example in the NFL.
Still hurts me as a fan to lose Diggs though...Not as deeply as Moss in his prime, but I got me a little scar from it.
Diggs and the organization hit some bumps and they moved him. Two sides to every story, but he's a great NFL WRer. But then the Vikings hit a home run with the bases loaded and down by 3 in the 9th with JJ.
Diggs and JJ.....pretty balanced Id say, but the tipping point is hopefully JJ has a little more tact regarding the franchise that drafted, coached, played then PAID him.
Diggs wants to go somewhere else? Well...BYE
anyone who doesnt want to be on the team, theres the door.
Listen, Diggs is a fantastic WRer. There's no argument about it. It was a shame he had to be traded. But the Vikings got JJ so its really a win-win for both teams. Stefan seems to keep wanting to pimp VikingNation from time to time and some fans get caught up in the drama. Lets just move on.
So, in a year or two, and J Rob is looking like Danielle Hunter 2.0, I think the scales tip further in our favor.
Write it down. 5-7 sacks this year in 350 snaps. Couple blocked kicks too.
Keep in mind JJ has to not have a sophomore slump to be talking about equal. I think it might be a bit much to get 1400 yards again but +1000 would be great.
Yeah I definitely miss Diggs. He was awesome and even though things ended badly, I still root for him in Buffalo.
Jefferson is awesome too though and probably my favorite player on the team now, along with Dalvin. Glad the deal has worked out for us.
Diggs is still being a whiney bitch on Twitter. Fuck him. Fuck him twice.

Let's not forget JJ came in with no offseason and lit it up his rookie year. Diggs wasn't even active for several games. Now many try to pin that on the coaching staff, but there was something about Diggs that gave them reason. Likely it was immaturity of some sort.
i just dont want all of the sophomoric bullshit.
play the game, dont play God
Diggs was a great player for us and while it sucks that things didn't work out, I certainly don't miss his vague posting and drama. It felt like the trade worked out as well for both sides as it could. Diggs got to move on and the Vikings were able to add a younger and cheaper receiver who performed at an elite level as a rookie. Whatever happens with the other picks is just icing on the cake.
I miss Diggs but I am enjoying watching Jefferson. It is still a win win at this point. I am still thankful that Philly fucked up and picked Reagor.
I don’t tweet, but if I did, I’d tell Diggs to kiss my lilly white ass… ;) B)
I don’t have any animosity towards Diggs, but I don’t miss
him at all.
He has one of the most memorable plays in Vikings history,
but his decent production for us was washed out by his medium level amount of
being annoying and it kind of comes out as a meh to me, where I mostly remember
how he left and all the dead cap he caused last year, and that’s how I’ll
remember him.
Speilman deserves a ton of credit for turning a volatile situation into a huge win for the Vikings. There is no doubt that this turned into a really great trade for us. That being said, it also turned out to be a win for the Bills, Diggs provided some much needed leadership for a young QB and offense and they were a game away from going to the Super Bowl last year. This was the exception in which both teams won and both players were the right fit for each team.

Would have been funny if he was traded to seattle and turned out to be another bust.

Justin was so fun to watch started at week 3 that I would legit forget about Diggs. I kept waiting for the next JJ catch and excitement.
