Excellent SI.com story on Kellen Mond from a month ago....
Ultimately, Mond will be under the same kind of challenges that any of the top QBs taken will have: how does he perform under pressure? Can he be accurate consistently? Can he captain an offense at the NFL level? He's got the physical skills. He's got a nice, compact throwing motion and release. Athleticism.
Like any other young kid, it'll depend on how he develops between the ears.
“I think where he sits in the draft right now, outside of the big five that everyone is talking about, teams feel that if they hit, they can hit on a starter,” said Jim Nagy, the director of the Senior Bowl. “To me, the floor is a backup. We know he can be a backup. But if you hit, you’re hitting on a starter, and that’s what has teams so intrigued.”
And that's what it's all about.
