- MITCHELL SCHWARTZT, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Chiefs released OT Mitchell Schwartz. Both he and LT Eric Fisher's releases create roughly $18 million in cap space and signify Kansas City's desire to overhaul that unit immediately through free agency and the draft. 32 in June, Schwartz is also said to be eyeing retirement, rather than testing the market, after his 7,894 snap-streak came to a halt this year. Fans should expect another significant transaction in the next 48 hours as the Chiefs remain $5 million over the cap.SOURCE: Herbie Teope on TwitterMar 11, 2021, 9:53 AM ET - Chiefs released LT Eric Fisher.Kansas City's No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft, Fisher's release frees up $12 million in cap space. Although both he and RT Mitchell Schwartz (also released) weren't available in the the team's Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay, Fisher still graded as Pro Football Focus' No. 19 tackle among 136 qualifiers in the regular season. The 30-year-old free agent will likely be forced to take a short-term deal in 2021 as he continues to rehab from his January Achilles' tear.SOURCE: Adam Schefter on Twitter
“The best ability is availability...!” Harry Peter Grant.

With Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz cut today, Patrick Mahomes' protection is set to look at least 60% different in 2021.

If the last 15 years of Vikings OL was the result of planning, then it's clearly time for some blindfolded archery B)

damn...you beat me to the punchline
Note on the #Chiefs offensive line that lost its 2 tackles: They’ve been in discussions recently about bringing back OT Mike Remmers, source said. He thrived at RT before moving to the left side out of necessity in the Super Bowl. Should have a market, but KC hopes for a return.
