To me its amazing all these one handed TDs. Hell I can barely catch a football with both hands lol.
RED ZONE RELIABLEKyle Rudolph ranks second to Steve Jordan for receptions (453 to 498) and receiving yards (4,488 to 6,307) by a Vikings tight end. But Rudolph caught 20 more touchdown passes than Jordan; in that category, Rudolph trails only four other Vikings all-time.
Cris Carter 110
Randy Moss 92
Anthony Carter 52
Sammy White 50
Kyle Rudolph 48

Nope, not a YAC guy but highly effective. Kinda in the Kleinsasser mold but more athletic (?) and a better pass catcher. Vikings have loved their big, lumbering guys over the years and also the Jordans and ISJ's.
I think ISJ is going to be a terrific player for us.
It was pretty evident Rudie wasn't happy with his role here anymore. The contract wasn't going to work on-going. I hope he gets a ring somewhere.
@"MaroonBells" said: Vikes did him a solid here. Could've saved about $3M more by waiting until after June 1st, but it would've hurt Rudy's chances of signing with someone else. That they did...
If being a solid owner was enough to get you a Lombardi? The Wilfs would have one by now.
@"BarrNone55" said: I think it bodes well for keeping Rieff.I don't know. That could still go either way. I don't think they'll keep him at his current cap hit, so either a release, trade or a short extension. Would prefer the latter.
I would expect to hear about the release of Bailey and Stephen soon. As well as an extension for Harry and salary-to-bonus conversions for Thielen and Kendricks. Vikings can get a good $12M-$16M under the cap with a few fairly painless moves.

yeah i could see seattle or tampa or KC signing him.Rudy is a great person. How could the catch to again roast Payton and the Aints not be a favorite viking memory, and i been watching since 73.
It was fantastic to have that position at least "solid" for a decade. We picked a few TEs in later rounds but it never needed to be a priority. I sure hope Smith and/or Conklin make TE just as solid.
Wonder where Rudolph will play this year?

Early rumblings say he goes to Buffalo with Diggs.

Interesting. I have not followed Josh Allen very much but the one game i saw this year he looked great. I would think Rudy needs somebody to really place the ball, if he gets that in a QB he could again be lethal in the red zone.Mcdermott was such a great hire, that org is building a powerhouse.
@"RS Express" said: I expected it to happen sometime, but it still surprised me to actually read it. Good luck Rudy. Go sign with Arizona, everyone else is doing it :pHa. At this point in their careers Larry Fitz and Rudy are basically the 2 Spider Mans pointing at each other meme.
But both have had impressive, long careers and seem to be great guys off the field. I wish Rudolph the best.

lets wait to crown him until he can put together an organzition while paying a franchise QB not on a rookie deal... but yes he has certainly turned that team in the right direction.
- KYLE RUDOLPHTE, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reports Kyle Rudolph would be interested in signing with the Browns if the team doesn't retain David Njoku. This comes as NESN's Doug Kyet reports the Patriots are interested in signing the veteran tight end. Cabot cited a source who said Rudolph -- released by the Vikings on Tuesday -- would be open to reuniting with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, who was Minnesota's offensive coordinator in 2019. That year, the lumbering Rudolph caught 39 passes for 367 yards and six touchdowns on 48 targets. Njoku probably won't be back with Cleveland. He's heading into his fifth-year option year at $6.013 million, and since the salary isn't guarantee until the first day of the league year March 17, the Browns can release Njoku with no dead cap space or trade him. Rudolph's addition to Cleveland's roster likely won't affect Austin Hooper's opportunity any more than Njoku or Harrison Bryant did in 2020. RELATED:SOURCE: Cleveland.comMar 3, 2021, 9:53 AM ET

Come on now, Rudy will consistently get you 4.3 yac per reception, or the distance from the grab to the sideline... B)
