"The trafficking charges all are alleged to have occurred between 2008 and 2018. Geddert could face up to 20 years in prison for the six charges involving minors and up to 15 for the other 14 charges. "

A travesty that even if he is convicted the max on trafficking is only 20 years for 6 victims.  Should be a lot more with even 1 victim but 6???  He destroyed at least 6 minor girls lives forever.

Our justice system, in terms of punishment, needs to be drastically updated on all crimes against women (rape, trafficking, abuse, etc.)  Also, Crimes and punishment should be national and not state by state.

That Simone Biles interview (60 Minutes) was moving, her commitment to her sport and her rage at how they were all treated, she is one tough person.  All these predators need to be put away period, it's terrible how they all cover for each other.

I have always thought that the punishment does not match the crime for these offenses. It definitely discourages victims from reporting.

John Geddert, a former U.S. Gymnastics coach and owner of the Michigan gym where Larry Nassar worked and abused hundreds of young gymnasts, died by suicide Thursday, just hours after authorities announced he had been charged with 24 felonies, including 20 counts of human trafficking. He was 63.

Irrelevant now, but I thought I saw a lot more time than that.  Was trying to wrap my head around what he was charged with.  I saw 1 instance of sexual abuse, but a bunch of trafficking and labor.  Was he making these kids work for him, or was that for making them perform injured so his business thrived?

My wife was a collegiate level gymnast.  She knows people in the know in all this stuff.  What I find interesting is that most of the women she was in gymnastics with wont let their daughters do gymnastics which says all you need to know about all this.

There is a special place in hell reserved for those that mess with little kids... I would be fine with hastening these fuckers arrival there.

Athlete A is a documentary on Netflix that tells the story of Larry Nassar. There are several gymnasts in it. Kudos to all of them for speaking out. I hope they find peace. The documentary goes into detail about the cover up and how the abuse was exposed. There are a lot of predators that found cover through US Women's gymnastics, Michigan State gymnastics and it's absolutely sickening. It's disgusting and heartbreaking what these young women went through. The impact statements were powerful.
