The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar, Mike Sando and Jayson Jenks report Russell Wilson's camp has broached trade destinations with Seattle to the Dolphins, Jets, Saints and Raiders. The report also notes that "some people around the league" believe a trade will happen, if not this offseason then sometime in the "near future," and that those close to Wilson feel as though the pillars upon which coach Pete Carroll built his program — namely competition and accountability — are applied selectively, especially as it pertains to himself and his sons. If that truly is the case, Wilson would knowingly waive his no-trade clause to join one of the four teams listed above if only to escape Carroll's reign, which runs through the 2025 season after the organization gifted the 69-year-old an extension late last year. It's still possible this relationship is repaired, but the two sides continue to grow farther apart with every passing day. RELATED:

is this talking about Wilson or Carrol?

wilson  never heard carrol pushing religion  but both are covered in the rest

well as a person who lived in Washington state for 10 years I know Wilson is a Christian and has a reputaion for being a really good charitable stand up guy.  Never heard one negative thing about his leadership or his faith while living there.  The fanbase loves him and hates the poor offensive lines he has been dealing with basically his whole career.  Never once have I heard any kind of me first hypocritical or narcicistic complaint against him.  Just my experience.

Guys the Baldwin tweet is from the day after the capitol riots. Doug is talking about Donald Trump.

Pretty sure Barr posted it ironically.

There has always seemed to be something off about Wilson.  Whether it was his leadership issues or Carrol's, one can only speculate.  But Wilson has never been accepted as the leader of the team.

Personally I think it speaks more to Carrols culture where a sluggard like Bennett was their Man of the Year choice and the week of the announcement he gets into a fight at the kneel down and then with a fan as he was kicked out.

Good way to put it. When Carrol was the toast of the league a few years ago, there were articles about how well he related to young players, allegedly from his successful years at USC - letting them use social media during practices, giving them choices of music to play...it always sounded odd to me, like he was an old guy trying to be a young guy and the players would probably take advantage of him.

I think they started losing that team in the 2015 Super Bowl, when they called the pass play (intercepted) instead of handing off to Marshawn Lynch. I know, Bevell called the play but hard to believe Carrol had no input. There were a lot of rumblings that Carrol wanted to ensure Wilson, not Lynch, would be the game MVP. True or not, I think it made players think of Wilson as a "company man", the coach's favorite, and not one of them.

It sure would be nice if the Seahawks went into a downturn. They seem to be on our schedule every year and have owned us for the past decade.

As Jor-el mentions above. Wilson has never been the leader of that team.  He is seen as the company man or other issues.  Just too many other players that have taken shots at him, the smoke/fire analogy and all that.

Lynch was the heart of the team in their glory years.  When he would make an impressive run, the D, the team, the crowd all got juiced and they fed off that.  I remember one game, I think it was against us but not sure.  Lynch wasn't faring well.  Then he fumbled and I made a note, that was actually a bad omen for the opposing team because Lynch was pissed.  Sure enough, next series he went off and the whole team elevated their play.  The D found its anger again.

Or if you are talking Carrol, Jor-el pointed that out.  And the dependence on Lynch was another sign that Carrol wasn't the one the team followed.

As a Vikings fan currently working in (and living near) Seattle, I hope this brings one very special thing to this offseason:

LET THE FUGGIN' BOBBLEHEADS BABBLE THEIR MASTURBATORY TRADE SCENARIOS ABOUT WILSON INSTEAD OF COUSINS FOR A CHANGE.

Seriously, it'll be fun for the locals to know the kinds of headaches that I/we have been dealing with.

Been watching Russell Wilson since he was a Badger. How he lasted till the 3rd round is beyond me.

Vikings have never beaten his teams, not one time. He'd have been a god up here in MN as a Viking and the bane of Wi. The Rogers vs Wilson battles would have been epic.
