Rousseau went one pick before Phillips, otherwise this could have been stellar. Phillips scares the scrap out of me. I'll bet he gets a medical flag and off our board.

I can vouch for Bison burgers they are delish. There is a dive called the Bison Turf across the street from campus where we hung out in college.

What site do you use for your mocks? TDN? I've used those before, but see myself using PFF's a lot more now.

@PurpleCrush yup, TDN. Actually bought the premium version for trades and no pop ups.

Sweet. I was wondering how you got to incorporate trades in those mocks.

Yeah, it's the $25-30. I've got my money's worth.

You can do trades on PFF's site too, as long as you have premium. I like it better than any other mock draft site, though I trust their rankings maybe a little less than others.

Plus, I hate when sites "grade" your picks. It's stupid. For example, If I had mocked Justin Jefferson ahead of Lamb and Jeudy last year, which is how I had them ranked, I would've gotten a bad grade. Same with Terrell over Okudah or Winfield over Delpit.

I could certainly get behind this draft but don't think there is any way Lance makes out of the top 15 and I still believe Phillips to be the top pass rusher.  If it wasn't for the concussion history he would be a sure fire top 10 pick based on his tape and production.  So medical will be everything with just how high he goes.  I've heard comparisons to the Bosa's....which is pretty damn good

With Hunter coming off a neck injury (and what the team has seen happen with Hughes recurring neck injuries) I would be surprised if Phillips was still on our draft board.    What happens if/when he gets 1, maybe 2 concussions in the NFL?  Retire most likely.    I get Phillips could be a high risk/high reward type pick, but with our Dline uncertainty/lack of DE depth and Hunter’s injury I just feel like we need to go for more of a less injury prone player with our first rounder.

The thing is if some team takes him in the 1st round, you can bet they've done a ton of research into his health and background. That doesn't mean it's not going to bite them in the ass though.

But there are two issues with Phillips. 1. His concussion history, which led to persistent headaches forcing a short retirement. 2. Guy is nuts about his music and there are some who question how serious he is about football.

But among the edge rushers I watched, he looked the best. And it wasn't even particularly close. You can quickly see why he was a 5-star recruit. He's really gifted. Quickness, bend, hands, feet. It's all effortless.

I've been using PFF's site recently to do mocks and been able to do trades too, without paying for premium. And I agree, grading picks for a mock draft seems stupid but I guess in their case they do it to justify their player rankings.

Yeah I think with Phillips, an in person face to face with Zim and Patterson prior to the draft would be extremely beneficial and alleviate a lot of fears one way or the other about how serious he was about football. With that said his commitment to transforming his body back to what it was took a lot of work/dedication and he was one of the leaders in the Miami weight room.

So I really hope he is one of the guys the Vikings coaching staff gets to spend some time with prior to the draft because the talent is unquestionable.  I'm a big fan of Phillips
