Kyle Pitts: taking a tight end in the first round will make people uneasy and rightfully so. The recent history of first-round tight ends is shaky and the value of the player in an offense that already has established tight ends makes the pick unorthodox. However, with Pitts, you have different value because he can be lined up all over the field and is more like a WR. Pitts' 18 yards per catch is proof of that. I see Pitts stealing more snaps from Thielan than Irv Smith as a Viking. BPA grade might be a "A"... and I would certainly love watching him play next season, but I can only give this pick a "B" right now.
Robert Hainsey: This pick gets an "A" from me because he is a 3rd or 4th round tackle who could kick inside to guard and be a NFL starter for the Vikings. The Vikings had some success with Cleveland moving inside to guard, and I think this tackle class offers the Vikings some mid round opportunities to do the same thing again.
Alim McNeill: Don't be fooled by his size or the fact that he lined up as a nose tackle in a 3-4. Just a few years ago McNeill was a running back and he has great quickness and for a guy pushing 320 lbs, (he can run a sub 5.0 forty). Good fit for the Vikings as a 3T next to M Pierce "A+ PICK". I would bang the table for him at 79. The DT class is not deep and you got lucky landing him at 84. This pick saved your draft!
Feleipe Franks: I like Franks as a backup behind Cousins for a couple years... he might have the tools to be more than a backup down the road. "A"
I'll give you an "A" for Paris Ford and Shi Smith as well.
At first I liked Wyatt Davis... but now I'm questioning his knee injury(s) in the championship game... and I'm also not sure he has the foot-speed the Vikings covet for a zone blocking scheme?
@BarrNone55 - first two picks didn't wow me but you made up for it!
I think I'm growing warmer to what this draft has to offer in the mid rounds.
Watching Pitts in college was reminiscent of Randy Moss @ Marshall. I would be over the moon happy with Pitts...
But only if they had a few nice moves in the trenches in FA.
Dude, in your last draft, you gave me Rousseau, Nixon, Leatherwood, Grant and Slaton. And now you show up with this? Don't make me go into my TE rant.
Yeah, yeah, i know, Pitts is generational. So was OJ Howard.

This was me literally going off script to see what would happen.

That's exactly what I'd do with Hainsey, kick him inside.
McNeil is down to 315lbs. I think he can be a 1 or 3T.
Pitts was purely BPA, and too hard to pass up. Of the non QBs, who has more potential for impact? Maybe a handful of prospects.
@"PurpleCrush" said: All you're missing is our boy Slaton ;)Did another one where I nabbed both Slaton and Snowden, plus Shi.

Oh I know...just giving you shit. I do the same thing, but mine usually involves a QB. If the Vikings do something unexpected (not OL or DL) it will probably be QB. Maybe CB, but that's harder to see. What I find interesting is that the Vikings could very easily have their choice among 6 to 8 players who represent BPA meeting need. Look at Matt Miller's top 300 and check out the OL and DL players in the 14 to 25 range....would love to pull two from this group.

I will admit to being incredibly intrigued by Lance. I'd take Lawrence and Wilson over him, but that's about it. If you're looking for the next Mahomes, this could be it. But i'll say it now, no way Lance is available at 26.
My $ is on Lance going top 10 for sure...I could see the lions drafting him as well.

I thought this was going to be a Monty Python clip.
