Vikings hire Guenther
The #Vikings are hiring Paul Guenther as a senior defensive assistant, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The former #Bengals and #Raiders DC worked with Mike Zimmer for six years in Cincinnati and knows that scheme well.

Honestly, is anyone shocked? I'm like, what took so long after he got booted. Anything to get the D back where it was is fine by me.
The potential scapegoat for 2021? Zim always seems to have one in recent years.

Relatively speaking ice cubes are pretty warm. Heck I remember the Giants game at TCF. They iced the beer in cow tubs to keep it warm. ;)

Hope you're right, BN55 - SKOL!.We have such high hopes for guys like Hunter, Pierce, and Barr to come back and dominate. My struggles are I've never seen Pierce play (never heard of him before he became a Viking), and we have no clue how the recovery is going with Danielle or Barr.
It would be fantastic if the D can turn it around in a single off season, but things really have to fall in place for that to happen.

I think it's possible. I like this secondary with a year of offseason activity and training camp.

I was at that game.I think with a bunch of other VF members, I can't remember anything but the cold and dark lol!!

Yep, my son and I were there too, pf (I think we did shots together) - really fun game. It was below zero, but the tailgate area was crazy with blaring music, a disco ball, and walleyes swimming in a kiddie pool - funnier than shit!

I wont miss outdoor football at night, in winter in MN, but it was a blast from the past for sure. TCF was a nice place to play in the fall though.

Took my kids to a game at TCF in the middle of October. Waking through campus from the stadium to the light rail station was something we'll never forget. Just one of those gorgeous fall days in mpls with the sugar maples on fire with color.

IMO it's an advantage to hire coaches who were Defensive or Offensive Coordinators,

And in that spirit, I though the 40th coach added to Zimmers staff would be a passing coordinator - so other side of the ball completely.

I'll say this: with Hunter and Pierce back and say a Barrimore is drafted.....some very lucky DE is going to benefit from that lineup with single blocking on the edge. Whether its a guy like Lawson or another FA if they go that route, that person could have a career year.
