The Vikings are interviewing Giants wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert for the team's offensive coordinator opening. Tolbert would bring continuity to the Minnesota offense since he worked under former Vikings offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak in Denver during their run to Super Bowl 50. Tolbert, a coach in the league since 2003, has coached Giants receivers for the past three years, developing wideouts Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton. Tolbert worked with Emmanuel Sanders, Wes Welker, Eric Decker, and Demaryius Thomas during Peyton Manning's dominant years in Denver. He's a legit contender to inherit Kubiak's job in Minnesota.

Not necessarily. Tolbert could be a Rooney Rule interview. Not that he isn't qualified. I like that he has experience with Kubiak's offense.

If the system can grow from the same core, continuity would be a big positive.
