Keenan McCardell is the new WR coach

#Jaguars WR coach Keenan McCardell is moving on to same position with #Vikings, where he gets to mentor Justin Jefferson, per NFL sources. Didn't have relationship with Meyer or Bevell and wasn't really in hunt to keep his job that he did really well.

Good hire. He has worked with several young WRs over his career. This probably leads to Pubes Jr taking the OC spot.

Good hire. Been with the Jags since 2017 where he's helped DJ Chark turn into a pro bowler and has had a lot of success coaching up rookies and young players: Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook and this year Laviska Shenault and Collin Johnson. Also coached Diggs at Maryland. https://t.co/mnH4jOQjFf

I remembered that McCardell coached Diggs at Maryland...I thought there were reports he had some connection to the Vikings staff at the time we drafted Diggs and McCardell encouraged us to draft him. Anyone else remember that?

I like this. I like it more if it means Baby Kubes is our OC. Daddy Kubes may not be on staff, but as the baby daddy of the OC, there is a de facto advisor built in to that choice.

OTOH, some of the stuff I've read regarding Vikings OL shortcomings feels like coaching inadequacies.  

I'm not savvy enough to know myself, so I gotta rely on what I see on the field and read.

On one hand you've got a really effective outside zone running scheme that mixes well with the magnificent Cook.

OTOH, some of the stuff I've read regarding Vikings OL shortcomings feels like coaching inadequacies.  

I'm not savvy enough to know myself, so I gotta rely on what I see on the field and read.
