To the college "scouts" and draft nerds this question is for you:
I am watching the CFP Championship and Mac Jones seems pretty good. Do you guys think he should be in play for us? Maybe a trade up in round 2 and then let him learn?

On another note D. Smith is on a different level. Ohio needs to call in help for the second half. Wow!

Man you are though to please  :) Reading some of the insights here is just amazing.

Watching both QB's last night, I'd put the Ohio State kid way ahead of Jones...

What concerned me about Fields was how the pre-snap is managed. He was always having to look over to the sidelines for the play after the D was set. Can't these kids call their own plays by this level???

I suppose that's the case for lots of college offense these days? It just seemed much more obvious to me watching the Buckeyes vs Bama...

I didn't watch the game, but I've been watching a lot of clips recently. I like him more than I used to.

He's got a nice pump fake and he stands strong in the pocket. Reminded me a bit of Brad Johnson in that. But I'm just starting on these guys. I have no idea where he should rank. Sounds like most media draft folks have him just after the big four, but considering Lance didn't play at all and Jones has had a good year, I could see some teams ranking him ahead of Lance.

But yeah, @BarrNone55, there are a lot of factors that make you wonder how he'd do outside of that powerhouse supporting cast.

One middle round guy I think is intriguing is Feleipe Franks. This Feleipe is not petit. At 6-6-240, he has elite size, arm, athleticism. I look at him once and he's Colin Kaepernick. Again and he's Josh Freeman or Logan Thomas, who's now playing TE. Definitely mid-to-late round guy, but someone to keep an eye on...

@MaroonBells yeah, Franks is an intriguing guy...saw a fair amount of him when he was a Gator...Mond...all guys I'd consider Day 3...

Matt Rhule tried recruiting Mac Jones to Temple/Baylor. Don't be shocked if Mac Jones goes as high as #8. PFF is already mocking it here:

Five QBs in top ten? The QB carousel this offseason could get very interesting. Sam Darnold, Tua and a handful of other talented NFL QBs are all swirling around the trade rumor mill.

Similar things were thought last year. I don't buy 5 QBs in the top ten. If that happens, a hell of a player is going to fall to the Vikings at #14.

Last year, look where they had Jake Fromm!

And this gem, LMAO...#3 overall! https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/04/29/2020-nfl-mock-draft-justin-herbert-jake-fromm-tua-tagovailoa

Joel Klatt Has An NFL Team In Mind For Mac Jones (msn.com)

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones made a strong case for himself as a first-round talent in last night’s national title game. In the 52-24 win over Ohio State, Jones threw for a massive 463 yards and five touchdowns on an efficient 36/45 passing.
