BYU @ Coastal Carolina Saturday on EPNU

This will be the best defense he's faced all year.Same hear, I have watched him a couple of times and he looks like the real deal. I love the way the ball just seems to pop right of his arm or even with a snap of his wrist. As you also say, he does not look 6'3 and is pretty slight. Maybe a little more meat on the bones then Teddy but close.
I saw a highlight of a play where he stepped up in the pocket and fired a side-armed bullet between two defenders. That was a wake up moment for me on Wilson. Looked like Mahomes or Favre. I can't find that play but this one is similar.

Yeah, he can definitely rip it. Quick release. Lots of arm angles. Moves well when forced off the spot. Fun to watch. After Lawerence and Fields, he's the third QB off the board IMO.

Maroon - yes a see a lot of Favre in him! Gunslinger but hopefully not as risky :)

With the hype he's getting, and the spectre of Schlichter, Haskins, Pryor, et al, haunting Fields, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Wilson goes #2.

Damn, maybe we should hope he bombs in this game, the combine and that we are targeting a QB and willing to move up. That's a lot of Hope!
Zach Wilson is going to be a huge fan favorite for whatever teams drafts him. He's got swag and is a gunslinger.
I have watched him all year and would be giddy to get him in purple.
I'm a big fan of Wilson and watched most of his games this year. Hope he is available when the Vikings are on the clock. Don't think he will be.
Wilson has moved up to #3 on draftwire's updated Qb ranking.

Keep an eye on Desmond Ridder he is moving up too.
A couple months ago, I said this is a loaded QB class and I still stand by that (most of you thought I was nuts).
There are only so many teams that need a QB. The QBs that fall out of the first round will probably fall all the way to round 3 or 4 (because of minimal supply and demand) not because of talent.
Last year Jamie Newman had a second round grade, but because of opting out and a loaded QB class, he could possibly fall to the mid rounds.
Trey Lance is a guy that could fall past Kyle Trask if he doesn't throw accurately enough at the combine or pro-day.
There are at least 8 or 9 QBs I would draft to replace Sean Mannion as back-up who could in-turn push Cousin for the future job (whenever that is).
Excited to watch Wilson vs another good team. I watched some game tapes of Coastal Carolina and they are a very similar team. They have a Freshmen QB - McCall who looks very good and can run. Stats are something like 67% comp, 20 TD's and 1 Int for a freshmen that is awesome.
I think the BYU OL is going to wear down the CC Defense. They are huge and the CC front is not.
This game got a little chippy before the half. Zach Wilson is fun to watch.
The game was mildly interesting and good on CC for making it happen.....but the media just went NUTS about what a great game it was, how amazing that this happened, etc. The hype on everything sports for their self serving motives just puts me off so bad. I'm realizing sports is becoming something that is targeted for an age group younger than this guy (pointing at myself).

McCall did look pretty darn good but was primarily a running back and the CC run game just crushed the BYU DL which I did not expect at all. The second half went the opposite of what I thought (what else is new) and it was the CC lines dominating BYU. CC pass rush had no problem getting pressure on Zach Wilson. I think it was #94 who wreaked havoc from the one side at DE. He is also the guy that really gave a couple cheap shots on Wilson at the end of the half. I think it was ejection worthy.
Wilson was a mixed bag IMO. He was hyped at the beginning of the game and had a few overthrows. Then he had a few crucial drops. He was under pressure more so then any game all year and they couldn't run the ball which was another surprise for me. All that and he stilled showed why he is a first round pick. The darts he threw on the last drive alone and that last pass 2 yards short of a comeback win were big time. Oh well, I really enjoyed that game for 2 surprise teams.
I agree with Sticky that the announcers went over board the whole game and at the end with that amazing finish but that is their job and I usually just mute during most games anyway.
Ok, he's the real deal. I've seen him throw so many balls that look like they were launched from Patrick Mahomes. I think he's got better wheels. But, if he measures above 6-1 I'll be truly shocked. Top 10 pick.
