How are you going to feel about the team if they go 5-5?

....with a win Sunday against Dallas. How will it change your outlook for the team? Or will it? Would you view it as solid improvement or more an anomaly to problems that still exist?

First off, reaching 5-5 will show a little respectability for the team and beating the living crap out of Dallas is what it is...

.....not a ton to be honest with the exception of willing to call the year a mulligan for Zimmer.  If you go 2-14 or so you almost have to fire a coach don't you?  If you go 8-8 or so he probably keeps his job and it certainly looks like we've got some young guys ready to make an impact.

They're learning and finding their identity these past few games; I'll always want the Vikings to win - Skol!

I'd say getting to 5-5 will make my Sundays fun again. I will no longer be drinking afternoon beers being upset that my team sucks, as then I would be drinking afternoon beers ready to be emotionally hurt again. Let's get to 7-5!

Pretty much the same but how they play is important. The pack is our signature game but the last 2 were teams not playing well.

Right now we are a Top 15 team, that unfortunately wont do much for our trophy case.

I really love this offense now and it is clicking. There is sound reason to believe it can continue.

If our rooks on d continue to make strides at the same rate we have a shot at the playoffs. I would feel confident that happens if we get to 7-5, no easy task in this league

A lot better than when they were 1-5 and got thrashed by the Falcons.   A lot of young talent is getting much needed experience.   Next season this team will be loaded people.   Stock up on talent again in the trenches.   Get Barr, Hunter, and Pierce back in as starters on defense and the Vikings will be in business.

No change whatsoever. I have let go of expectations. I enjoy the wins and the progress. They are not beating good teams with the exception of Green Bay. The Bears have a good record but they are not a good team. We'll see how it goes. I am hoping a qb will fall but there is no guarantee. I doubt they trade up. There is no second round pick. One game at a time.

I dont see a team that competes with the Steelers and Chiefs so I am indifferent until they come up with a plan to fill the needs and fit it under the cap.    we know we need to make some major cuts,  and we know we will have a lot of holes to fill (especially once that cap number is achieved)

I am in just a bad mood all year, and had just started getting used the silver lining of a very high draft pick.  Now this glimmer of a positive season, this must be what purgatory was conceived to be.  It's like being promised some beer and when you get it, it's frigging miller lite or some crap like that.  The only joy I get these days is keeping the kids off my lawn, the upside of remote learning.

I would just anticipate getting close to making a playoff spot and then in usual fashion choking in the games we need to win and then being left out of the playoffs and out of reach of getting one of the top QBs. Definitely have a jaded view after being a fan all these years.

This is an interesting take and it looks like a frustrated fan view but I totally get it. I would love to feel our Vikes are in the upper echelon but its not reality, hence the wanting to make huge moves like nailing the QBOTF and finding that next Tomlin or whatever.

Thing is when you are good, you can get on a roll and make a run and when you are great you can fall on your face( 1998)

Dont know who is old enough to remember but we had a damn great team in 75 when Drew Pearson grew an extra hand on Staubachs hail mary.  In 77 we had a great team in Pasadena, took the ball on the opening drive to the Raiders 1 yardline and Brent Mclanahan coughed it up, we proceed to get run out of the stadium by Fred tar hands bilitnikoff.

Chip chair and chance as PA says, stability is a hard thing to build.

Give me 5-5 and a Dallas beating.  Throw in two wins versus the expansion duo of Carolina and Jax and I'm a happy man.

The beginning of the year shows that COVID killed this team's chance of a deep playoff run, we needed July, August for the young guys on the team.  We needed Pierce to elevate our run D.  A faster start and we keep Yannick, Danielle probably returns and this team could be a contender the #1 seed in the NFC

F^&K, Boone hitting the hole properly and any stop in the Tennessee game would probably put us at 9-3 after week 13.  All this despite COVID and COUSINS (being average overall at best)

I like where this team is headed, especially now that we have young guys all stepping up (Jet, Cleveland, Gladney, Wonnum, Lynch, Dye plus Boyd, Hercules, Irv)

I still believe this franchise is a young mobile QB away from being a serious SB contender

I’ll feel good. I’m glad it appears we don’t stink anymore.

But like others have said, I don’t think this team (or any other) is winning a Super Bowl without an elite QB. So until we get ourselves one of those, there’s a ceiling on what I think this team can do. To me this is still the absolute top priority.

I do think if the Vikings finish 8-8 then Zim has earned another year. Even if some might disagree with that, there’s no way he’d be let go with that record so even entertaining the idea would be pointless. Same for RS.

The team has talent that can compete, unfortunately they had issues that were hard to overcome (injuries/opt-out/inexperienced players). Getting those guys back and some games under the belts of the youngsters will go a long way...but at the end of the day it'll be hard to ever compete for a SB title without a top tier QB. I like Cousins, but I almost shit my pants every time he's in a pressure situation.

If you asked me at the beginning of the year. I would be a bit disappointed but hardly unexpected considering the turnover. If you asked me at week 6 I'd ask you to puff and pass. However since you're asking now. I'd say pretty damn excited.

5-5: still skeptical. Yes, on paper it looks like the team that played in GB 3 weeks ago should win 5 of their next 7 games (Tampa and New Orleans are the only tough ones), right? 9-7 and a good shot at the expanded playoffs this year!

But who wants to tell me they believe this team won't get to something like 6-5, start relaxing and counting their chickens - and then lay an egg against the Jags, or in the Bears rematch?
If they can keep the pedal down, win all the "easy" games remaining, and take one game from either TB or NO, then great. Big "if" and you all know it hasn't happened in the Zimmer era.

I'll enjoy the win but still will be skeptical of getting into the playoffs. It will encourage me that some of these young players could be very good for the team next year and beyond.

Oh,  they'll get there and then get beat,  and then we get to be excited about our 23 pick in the draft,  meanwhile there will be no QB prospects worth a shit and Spielman will convince the Wilfs to stay the course with Cousins and we are then stuck picking in the low 20s for the next 2 years and never really taking that shot on a blue chip QB prospect,  and still drafting to low to grab really quality OL and DL prospects as well.
