crap.
was hoping he would stick around. My son & his cousin play on the same team.
shit.
Sad thing is that's probably the last go for him - least with the Vikings. NFL is a tough, tough league to break into.

Great family
Never got the Hercules love on this board: he's undersized and gets annihilated inside. Not surprising to me at all.

His name is Hercules.
If that's not enough, your parents bought you the wrong toys as a kid.

It's a bad thing when the Vikings are carrying lineman for 2-4 years and then they wind up not contributing.
The Vikings incubator for Lineman hasn't been developing much.
Even with a year, Samia struggled.
I'd hoped Kubes and Co would be better, much better than Davidson and Co. That hasn't happened yet.
Herc ran a 4.8 and weighed 250 coming out. His intangibles kept him around but at this level he is engulfed at DE, overpowered at DT, and too slow for a 2 down Mike. Wish him well

He'll be back...
Vikings to re-sign DT Hercules Mata’afa to practice squad
A source said Wednesday, Oct. 14, that the
Vikings will sign the third-year man to the practice squad. Mata’afa was
waived Tuesday to make room on the roster for defensive end Jordan
Brailford, who was signed off Washington’s practice squad. He cleared
waivers on Wednesday.
“Herc’s a good kid,” said Vikings coach Mike Zimmer. “He’s worked really hard. We just needed some other bodies at the time.”
Mata’afa
was let go after rookie defensive tackle James Lynch moved ahead of him
on the depth chart. In last Sunday’s 27-26 loss at Seattle, Lynch made
his NFL debut, playing eight snaps and getting a sack.
“He’s just starting to get better each week,’’ Zimmer said. “We thought we’d take a look at him. He was fine during the game.’’
Mata’afa was on injured reserve as a rookie in 2018 due to a torn ACL
before getting into six games in 2019. Mata’afa played in three of the
first four games this season before being inactive against the Seahawks
after Lynch had moved ahead of him.

I heard a report on KFAN yesterday morning that Hercules posted some weird message with a clown along with news the Vikings released him - but then deleted his twitter account.
