Where did the assumptions prove to be wrong to-date?
I'm talking about the OL...
The front office and coaching staff had to make assumptions about where the improvement would stem from.
What were those? Where have they proved to be wrong this early in?
- The improvement in year 2 players
- The scheme evolving
- Player position switches
- Draft choices
- All of the above
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
This team's 3 biggest weaknesses were exacerbated by COVID.
The OL (1) and secondary (2) getting reps, practice, time to gel before the season.
The 3rd, poor inside DL play, hurt by the loss of Pierce.
This season is lost. Play the youngsters and enjoy it
My bet, this team looks terrible first 8 weeks, turns it around back end of the season with optimism for 2021. 7-9 and not enough to get a top QB, still stuck with Kirk, Zim, and Rick
@ Bucs
Bears
@ Saints
@ Lions
Is the last quarter of the season. I'm not sure I see a big turn-around, based on how they're playing now anyways. I'm not sure we're a better team than a Patricia led Lions group?
Its the Carolina @ home and Jaguars @ home that could F it up for those hoping to nab one of the top 3 Qb's this draft.
OTOH, this Covid year may prove to be no difference in home vs away like a normal season.

The fact that they thought Dozier and Elflein were NFL level talents at Guard should be enough of a clue how clueless this coaching staff and front office are on building a quality NFL OLine. This incompetence predates Zimmer and has been a glaring issue ever since Spielman came on board.
