Zimmer sounds exasperated and like a guy with a bad team
He knows what he's got and he knows its a lesser than team right now with a lot of new guys at different spots. Some young. Minnesota is getting whupped on defense, teams are taking it to them. The O-line is usually overmatched. Wrong year for major changes but who knew that in March? Even with some preseason games it wouldn't have made that much a difference. After the game he sounded resigned to the fact it probably is going to be a long year, no way for a quick fix.
That he does...Too bad, I like Zimmer. He turned this around back when the Vikings were Rogers bitches.
The amount of caring he's poured into everything has been repaid by the football gods pissing in his cornflakes. AP, Bridgewater, Bradford, eyeball surgery...You cant make it up.
I also think the league has passed him by.
If the Vikings are going to be miserable? Be miserable enough for Lawrence. Thats the payoff.
I'd take either Lawrence, Justin Fields or Trey Lance. I really would. If Minnesota picks Top 5, they can get one of those QBs.
Look around in the league that guys that are doing it or flashing big time? Its a new type NFL breed. One of those 3 I named fit the new league perfectly. The Vikings might be bad enough for that to happen.

I really thought we would improve over last year's offensive scheme, playcalling, game planning, etc. under Kubiak. Man was I wrong. This is worse than the KAO that Chilly deployed. You can win with an average defense, but your offense needs to win the time of possession game and score a lot of points to make the other team one dimensional. Not only can't we stop anyone, we can't generate any offense what so ever with what Kubiak is calling and Cousins is executing. Kubiak and Cousins are in a dysfuncional relationship that has no signs of improving anytime soon.

Me too...I knew the D would be a challenge and that became a big asz red-flag when Pierce opted-out and Hunter's real injury became known.
I thought the OL would improve (at least a little), play calling would improve, KC wouldn't regress and we'd have enough production from Bisi,Rudolph, Jefferson and ISJ not to miss Diggs too much.
Wrong on all counts so far with the O.
If we do end up with a high draft pick I don't want spielman or zimmer involved in this team at all. If that's the case then we need to do a full and complete rebuild.

I have thought this as well for the last year or so.
It would be very Viking for the team to end up winning enough games to pick at like #11 or something just to watch all the QBs get drafted before them. I don't think they are good enough for that, however. This very well could be a truly bad football team.
I am exasperated with this team. We got rid of Diggs. There is a huge contract for Cook. There are OL issues. My son says and I quote, "Kirk Cousins doesn't seem like a quarterback. He seems like a bus driver, pastor or someone that does your taxes. He is never excited or like a bad heartrate monitor". The growing pains on defense. The offense is putrid. They are going to have to blow things up again at this point.

And I dont...Not if their play doesnt improve.
This could be the Jets vs Vikings for the #1 pick. Carolina is going to be bad too.
Watching NE and Seattle last night was like watching an entire different league vs what the Vikings are fielding.
