Soooo good to get the 1st one out of the way.
I know, Houston's pretty bad, but this is what I envisioned the offense to look like this year. The defense played much better as well, asides from a couple slip-ups.
- I thought Kubiak called a great game. Leaned on the run, lead to great passing situations. Had Cousins run a play outside on 3rd down that I thought was a great call.
- OLine played well for the most part, including Samia and Dozier (at least compared to what they've been doing up to this point).
- Thielen and Jefferson are fun to watch.
- Jefferson reminds me of Antonie Brown, minus the batshit craziness.
- Cook, that's why you paid the man.
- Need to get Irv more involved, and that could really make the offense explosive.
- I like Kirk, but every game he has a couple plays where you sit there and just scream at the TV, whether it's waiting too long in the pocket or just a dumb decision throwing the ball.
- Defense played well for the most part. Pass rush was good. Ngakoue was a good pickup. I hope we can keep him after the season, as he and Hunter would be monstrous.
- Wonnum looks like he could end up being the next Patterson project that pays dividends.
- Young corners showed improvement. Still need some seasoning, but Gladney & Dantzler showed well, as did Hill.
- Loss of Harry was big, hope he doesn't miss a game next week.
- Kendricks doing Kendricks things. Best MLB in the game.
I'm not sure we really learned anything from this game. The Texans have some good players, just like the Vikings, but they are not playing very well right now. Had Watson played the first half like he did in the second, the outcome would have been much different. He looked awful early on with poor decision making and accuracy. Smith being ejected, and the Texans switching to No Huddle in the second half really exposed our defense. I fully expect the Seahawks and Russel Wilson to dominate our secondary just like Rodgers did. Also, Houston is dead last in Rush defense. Seattle is #3. If we need to rely on Cousins to win a game with his arm, I don't like our chances especially with our OLine.

And by a large margin. This game will likely be a very high scoring game.

I guess we will see, but if we can't dominate in the running game and keep Wilson off the field, this could look a lot like the opener against the Packers when Cook only had 12 carries for 50 yards and we gave up 43 points.@"TBro" said: I'm not sure we really learned anything from this game. @"TBro" said:Yep, Wilson will likely FEAST on this young secondary. But Cousins should get his as well. But I like kinda like our #5 rushing offense against their #3 rushing defense.@"MaroonBells" said:They are also averaging 35.5 points per game which is contributing to their poor pass defense numbers.
