Cam, ohhh Cam
Now is the time we'd be watching some Vikefans training camp interviews. Instead, we'll have to settle for some Vikings posts.

The CB cupboard is not bare. It’s just not filled with overpriced expiring goods.
Dantzler, Gladney, Hill, Hughes, new attitude
Wow. He even looks for the ball. Thielen didn't have a chance.
textbook. Zimmer LOVES those balls being knocked away. great body control
Hearing the team thinks Dantzler might be a Day 1 starter. Thielen gave him some strong praise in an article I read this morning as well.
He seems to have the attitude to play CB too, I love how he said his best quality is his confidence and he shows some of that at the end of that play. We really have not had a big time shut down CB in a long time, would be great to see it. Nice job RS on the 3rd round selection.
Vikings rookie CB Cameron Dantzler impressive in first padded practiceFormer NFL cornerback Terrell Buckley predicted last month that Cameron Dantzler will be a Day 1 starter. The rookie is doing his best to try to make that happen.
The Vikings cornerback had a strong showing in Monday’s first padded practice of training camp.
The third-round pick got some work with the first team at left cornerback, and made one of the top plays of the afternoon by breaking up a long Kirk Cousins pass intended for Adam Thielen.
“We liked (Dantzler) a lot on tape,’’ Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told KFAN-FM after the workout. “Adam Thielen came up to me during practice today and said ‘No. 27’s going to be really good.’ He’s got long arms and good length.”
The 6-foot-2, 188-pound Dantzler starred at Mississippi State. Buckley, an NFL stalwart from 1992-2005, was Dantzler’s cornerbacks coach with the Bulldogs before he took a similar position last January at Mississippi. Buckley told the Pioneer Press that the Vikings “got a steal at corner” and that he expects Dantzler to start the Sept. 13 opener against Green Bay.
The Vikings began Monday’s practice with Mike Hughes and Holton Hill as the outside cornerbacks on the first team, and rookie Jeff Gladney as the initial slot back. When Hughes took over the slot, Dantzler stepped in as an outside cornerback.
Gladney, recovering from meniscus surgery last March, missed practice last Friday because Zimmer said his knee “flared up on him a little bit.”
Zimmer said Gladney “probably took too many reps” in a previous workout but that “he’s going to be fine."

Vikings have some interesting guys with height and length (Hill and Dantzler), feisty and sticky (Hughes, Gladney). I feel good about this group, and Zimmer said the same thing yesterday.
Hughes pretty much ran that route step for step with #15... Impressive. We really need him to stay healthy.
I love the guy before heard his nickname
"The Needle" sounds like a menace to WR's.
Cam just picked off Cousins in today's practice. Staying hot. Running with the #1s.

Great...Cousins sucks and our Offense is going to be terrible this year.

Sounds like Cam is definitely in the running to be one of the starting corners. After all the hand-wringing it's not hard to imagine this corner group being better than last year's group. And I say that mostly because last year's group was god-awful.
Jefferson impresses again
The Vikings' Tuesday practice was the final session of camp that the team planned to livestream. It was more lively than the one fans saw on Monday, as the team tested its young cornerbacks with a busy day of downfield shots.
Here are some observations from the day:
• First-round pick Justin Jefferson worked with all of the Vikings' offensive units as the team tries to get the receiver more practice time before the season. He had an impressive connection with Kirk Cousins on a deep throw off play action, and made plays with the Vikings' second- and third-team offenses as well.
• During his work with the first-team defense, rookie cornerback Cameron Dantzler intercepted Cousins on a play-action throw for Bisi Johnson. It was an up-and-down day overall for Dantzler, who got beat in coverage at least once, but the Vikings continue to give him chances to prove himself against veterans.
• Danielle Hunter sat out again with what coach Mike Zimmer described as a "tweak" on Monday; the defensive end made an appearance on the sideline later in practice.
• Dan Bailey continued his perfect start on field goals, making four on Tuesday to improve to 7-for-7 so far in camp.
• The Vikings continued to rotate Aviante Collins and Dakota Dozier at left guard, alongside the four players who seem established in their offensive line spots: Riley Reiff at left tackle, Garrett Bradbury at center, Pat Elflein at right guard and Brian O'Neill at right tackle.

I've seen The Needle and the damage done. B)
@"purplefaithful" said: 6'2 and a buck eighty eight?!:o
A buck eighty eight holding a mid-sized cocker spaniel.
If you remember from the draft, he put on several quick, cheeseburger pounds for the combine to get to 188. As a result, he measured the highest body fat of any corner at Indy (at 6-2, 188!!) and ran a plodding 4.64.
Back to his natural weight (probably around 175), he ran a 4.38 at his pro day.
Anyway, this is why a 1st round talent is available late in the 3rd round.
