Grew up watching that CBS crew, good stuff.
George was a pioneer, but IMO lets not get too crazy with that. She's a Texas sorority girl that was actually Miss Texas in 1970, then became Miss America the following year. She started off as a host on Candid Camera. A pretty face hired for that fact, nothing more. RIP and I'm sure she was a nice lady, just in over her head for things like when she was on CBS Morning News, etc.
It was a different deal back then. More purely analytical without the nerdy advanced analytics. Today obviously is into the human drama, he said she said, flamboyance. and personal lives.
