Wow, so there is quite a difference between the two
but with the draft picks the bonus is only paid till they make the team.if a udfa makes the team he will get a contract similiar to a 7th rounder
& then there were 3... (openings) B)
Vikings officially announce signings of 12 Undrafted Free AgentsThe Undrafted Free Agent signing frenzy for the Minnesota Vikings has officially come to an end, as they have officially announced the signings of 12 UDFAs. They’re the same 12 names that we have on our Undrafted Free Agent tracker, but here is the full list again.
- Brady Aiello, OL, Oregon
- Jake Bargas, TE, North Carolina
- Dan Chisena, WR, Penn State
- Nevelle Clarke, CB, Central Florida
- Quartney Davis, WR, Texas A&M
- Myles Dorn, CB, North Carolina
- Jordan Fehr, LB, Appalachian State
- Nakia Griffin-Stewart, TE, Pittsburgh
- Tyler Higby, OL, Michigan State
- Jake Lacina, OL, Augustana
- Blake Lynch, LB, Baylor
- David Moa, DT, Boise State
With these 12 signings, coupled with the 15 players that the Vikings drafted over the course of the weekend, the team now has 87 players on the 90-man roster. Usually the team brings in some guys from rookie tryout sessions, but with things the way they are at the present time we can’t assume that anything like that is going to be happening anytime soon.

This was a very deep WR class, and that is partially why Q. Davis went undrafted. He is a good route runner if you can give him a clean release by lining him up off the line in the slot. He is labeled a slot receiver NOT because he is small. He just needs a clean release to be productive. His production at Texas A&M didn't measure up to all the physical tools he has to work with. He looked good at the senior bowl. He has the ability to decelerate quickly, turn smoothly and he can cut sharply for a big receiver. Not a great natural hands catcher but still a very good prospect. I like what I see on tape and I think his best football is still ahead of him. Bleacher report lists Davis as one of their top 8 rookie free agents.

Carl is definitely a guy who really 'knowles' what he's talking about.
p.s. Yeah, this is going to take me awhile to get out of my system.

Good stuff. If you saw Arif's consensus big board, Davis was either a third of fourth round guy. I'm still trying to figure out how he went undrafted.

Me too. Dallas had him inked until the Vikings swept in with a better offer. Love...LOVE that Rick and the Wilfs are willing to do what it takes to get the best of the UDFA's every year.I don't know why he dropped. I know he was a top 30 visit and those kind of smack of injury or character questions, but I've heard nothing about any specific red flags. He had an ACL 3 years ago and another minor injury heading into 2019, so maybe that's it. Could just be that he's sort of a WCO-only player in a very deep class of WRs.
I think he has a decent chance to beat out Sharpe and Beebe for that 4th receiver role. At the very least he'll be on the PS.
