Post Coronavirus Lifestyle Changes
Just curious if you will be making any adjustments to how you conduct yourself once we get on the other side of this pandemic? For instance, I've never received a flu shot, that will change once they have a serum for COVID-19.
Will you still attend sporting events and other public gatherings? How about dining out as opposed to delivery or carry out?
I was in college when the AIDS epidemic exploded. I went from not getting laid because I had no game, to not getting laid because I didn't want to die.

Here in South Dakota, we are about a month out of the expected peak, but I expect some things to start re-opening soon after. Thus far we’ve been fortunate, but like everyone else there will likely be peaks and valleys going forward much like the flu, except much deadlier. My Doctor thinks I’ve already had it. I got sick around the 12th and it lasted about 6 days of main symptoms. Unfortunately, there were no tests available at the time so I didn’t get a test until about a week after symptoms were gone. I tested negative then so there’s no certainty. Whatever it was, it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was not strong, not even as much as a cold, but it dropped into the lungs like nobody’s business. Unlike the majority, I had a really wet cough. I coughed up mouthfuls of yellow sticky phlegm and a clear liquid that was pus (can’t remember the medical name) along with a mild fever (100) for four days. Even growing up with allergies and asthma, there’s nothing I can compare it to. It seemed like as fast as my lungs started filling with fluid, I was able to expel it. Had that not been the case I’m afraid it would have been a much different story. A couple of days after last symptoms, I coughed up a mouthful of coagulated blood. One big ball of it and that was it. Felt fine from then on. Such a strange experience. After I got the negative test I was allowed into the clinic for x-rays to make sure it was gone. Everything was good.I got an email from my Doc the other day. The lab experts here are working on a plasma treatment using donors who’ve had it and handled it fine. They need a good system to test for antibodies and then be able to pull the plasma. I guess Spain has one from China but as it’s only 30% accurate that’s a no go here. Some private companies are claiming they’ve got one so I guess we’ll see. Either way, I pray I can help. We have people barely hanging on right now and it would be awesome to provide help for their system. This plasma donation could help strengthen the care until an immunization is developed. It would maybe help get things back up and running.
Hey, glad to hear from you and that things have turned out OK.
Yes, now when I go to the store to get Heineken, I buy double the usual purchase... ;) B)

Yes.
I'll never again take "for granted" Church worship.
I've sorely missed it, since the last few weeks I've missed it...not by my laziness, but by govt mandate.
Don't forget to pray for your Pastors. At least give 'em a text to say "I miss you/your message/fellowship."
Definitely stopping my new found habit of exercising frequently :p

Lots of beautiful shit 99.99% of the world will never see because they wont leave the interstates and highways.@"JimmyinSD" said:Well I am not too far off of your situation as I am in the Red River valley in NW MN. Aldis is the only place around here that has TP.

I was in a walmart 1 hour after it opened last thursday and they were out, I asked an associate if they even get any in and he say 6 pallets every night, but there is a line waiting for them to open at 7 every morning and its gone within a half hour. this is in a town of only 25,000 people and has been going like this for about 3 weeks now, nobody can shit this much!
I found where to get TP - but I aint telling...
On a more serious note, we've all got things on the bucket list. If time, $ and circumstances permit? Those are going to get a lot more prioritized in our household.
If anything, this has been a big, f'ing reminder we're not promised a tomorrow.
I am going to hug my daughter more.... maybe my son as well, but definitely my daughter.

My wife and I had a sobering reminder of this a couple weeks ago... one of our best friends passed away unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition. Early 30's. We did a lot of traveling with her and her family. It's been tough.
We've always had the mindset of not putting things off. We love to travel and always budget for trips to places we want to go and we do it. You'll never regret knocking items off your bucket list. Start now. You never know when it's your time.

For my own sanity, I started tracking how much toilet paper I actually use. Not to over share, but I'm pretty regular. Started a new roll last Friday. I've still got most of that roll left. When the hoarding started, I had a six pack in the linen closet. Two more rolls in the second bathroom. Went to Target as I was low on paper towels, saw that there was almost no toilet paper on the shelves, so I picked up another 6 pack.
Since that time, I've been in Target 3 more times. Out of curiosity, I checked the paper aisle each time, not a roll in sight. I talked with one of the associates and she said the morning is the best time to get toilet paper if you are running low. Again, for my own sanity, and the fact I have little faith left in humanity, got up early this morning and went to Wal-Mart and picked up another 12 pack.
I like to think I'm a rational person, but by my count I've got enough toilet paper to last until Halloween.

On a more somber note (does it get much more somber than these days?) I'm reading about increases in day-drinking etc.
I suspect we're going to see an uptick in addictions, deeper types of depression, psychosis etc.
Lot's of people don't have good coping skills and/or demons to battle that are going to win more fights. We're going to have to find a way to support those souls.

I hear yah...I lost my mom when I was 26 she was 49. I buried some of my best friends (back to jr high best friends)back when I was in my 30's - just like unfortunately you guys have had to to.
That was damn near 30 years ago now...I'm in my 50's still, but the tail end of those.
The reality is life, jobs, the day to day all tend to take-up our days. Takes an awful lot of determination and discipline to hit the bucket list - at least thats been my experience (and my own personal growth opportunity moving forward).

so you are saying instead of investing in Boeing and Chevron I should have been putting my money into booze stocks?
