Tajae Sharpe, 6'2" 200 lbs. 25 years old. Not sure what he's good at, does he have speed, etc.

I don't know...  I'll just go ahead and consider him an upgraded replacement for Treadwell for the time being...

I remember him being solid when we played the Titans a couple years ago. He's a good route runner, but hasn't put up big numbers and lacks elite speed, so he could be a guy who benefits from a change of scenery. Definitely not a replacement for Diggs, but more someone who can hold the fort until a rookie WR is ready to step into a bigger role.

Agreed, calling this a Diggs replacement would be just reckless.

Reading he's the "likely WR2" is still painful, but in a vacuum this is a fine signing (depending on the money). Reminds me a little of when we kicked the tires on Kendall Wright a few years back. That didn't work out but maybe this will.

Honestly, I think I'd rather have Treadwell.

I remember liking Sharpe coming out of college, and he has produced more than Treadwell. But at this point I would give the edge to Bisi Johnson to be "likely #2 WR".

At this point, Bisi is our number two. When we draft a receiver that is all going to change as I dont think the Vikes has a true number two and production is spread out across 3-4 guys. Thats fine, so long as the overall production is there. I'd love to see three guys produce 1,200-1,500 yard while Thielen eclipses 1,000 again next year.

It's a one-year, $1 million deal of which $675,000 is guaranteed, including a $175K signing bonus. Max $1.5M with incentive. Solid deal for Tajae Sharpe in a tough WR marketplace and low-risk addition for the #Vikings.

Tajae Sharpe among WRs min 35 targets in 2019:

1 of 5 receivers to not drop a pass

120.0 passer rtg when targeted, 10th highest

You got a good one

Here's one for yah:

He is the only receiver on the roster, other than Thielen, who has played more than a full season in the NFL.

Thielen will be 32 in the 3rd year of the rebuild. Finding younger guys like this plus the historically good WR WR Draft is needed to bulk the position up not just now but for the long term as well.

Now the really interesting question becomes do they use a 1st on Receiver. I can see both sides of the argument. Mims and Jefferson have higher ceilings but Johnson or Ceephus in the 3rd with high floors might represent the better value and allow the Team to stay focused on the Lines in the 1st Round.
