Just announced on his Instagram account he is leaving the Vikings and thanked the fans. No announcement on where he has signed as of yet.

Craziest offseason ever

Uh, we cut him?

He didn't want to play with Rick Spielman. He's not going to take a Brian Robison deal at the begining of free agency just because he loves the coach...

We cut him. We set a price. He was willing to entertain "restructuring" anyways. We didnt budge.

VINTAGE Rick Spielman...  :s

Or we don't have any money to pay these guys...  I mean Trae got a sack from Cincy (which he won't live up to) and I'm guessing us paying Pierce and tagging Harris kept us from having money to pay Everson.

Yeah but...  That doesn't fit with the agenda.

Whether we like it or not, that's just the reality of it in the NFL.  Very, very few retire with the team they originally started with.  Regardless, the amount of money is always the bottom line.

The Yarborogh kid we picked ip late last year has a chance. other than that im sure edge or a LB capable of pass rushing is forcing its way up our draft board

Fact: Alexander took Tier 3 money to play with another team. Fact: Diggs wanted out. Fact: Everson shut down negotiations with Minnesota before he even had a deal in place with another team. Fact: Kearse wanted out.

Those are facts. One can logically infer, without having any fucking agenda, that an unusually high rate of players didn't want to stay with the team. 3 of them were mid to lower round guys, the type of guys you would think would have some small measure of gratitude to the team that took a chance on them and developed them.

I'm well within my rights to wonder whether an aging coach, who is nowhere near the age he was when he coached Prime Time, that's a renowned hardass with a penchant for calling players out in the media, might be losing his touch with some of his younger players. It's been brought up here before by others, and that was before such an unusual exodus.

I think, like everything else, it's a combination of things. The Players and their Agents understand the cap situation.  Several of them didn't like how Zimmer utilized them. Which can relate back to him not connecting as well, Potentially, with some of his younger players. Scheme changes also factor in.

But to accuse me of having an agenda, and I'd like to see the last post where I advocated for firing Mike, smacks of koolaid drinking homerism.  Some real thin skinned folks here as Free Agency doesn't go the way you wanted and you're frankly overly protective of a team that has unquestionably regressed. A regression I'm actually for, in case you cared.

I agree.  I don’t understand why you would rule your team out without a solid and better offer elsewhere. It makes you think that something else must be under this.   This whole offseason seems weird to me. I can’t recall one where so many players left or one where there seemed to be no plan in place to rebuild.  It can’t all be done by the draft.  Our one major signing —a huge contract—is not even in our primary areas of need. What gives?
No,don't go blaming Griff. They did the same way with Brian and then cut him. The difference is Brian knew it was going to be his last year and he didn't want to go anywhere else.  Trust me a lot of those guys saw what they did to Brian and didn't forget. They can only give so much loyalty to the team before realizing the team isn't going to show any. That said, I'm sure Griff isn't falling for the same shit that Brian fell for, thinking that they would resign him after probably ignoring him.  That's Spielman's forte. Fuck Spielman. Good for you Griff.

I have bro. But don't always think it's the player that slams that door, just saying.

I know, I get it. Life's to short though. Believe me I was a huge Brob fan. He and you should be very proud.

We are and thank you for that. Honestly,, I was just telling you what actually happens. As I said a long time ago, the team will only let you see one side of any story. I'm not mad, upset or bitter at the organization at all. My son loved it there, still loves Minnesota. He spends as much time there as he can. He loved, and still does, all the fans, even the ones that didn't like him because they pushed him to strive for more.
I feel the same.
I just have a problem with 1 person, while I understand it's a business, you don't have to be a snake in doing your job. But just so you know I've never liked the way RS conducted his business. That's the way I always fealt about him.
Again, thanks for what you said. It's just my opinion.

we’re clearly blowing up the D. Why hang onto aging vets?  Yall want Zim gone right?  If he can do it with losing all these players itll be time to shut up.

I only wish we hadnt signed Barr last year. Going into this year, Cousins is going to have to win games not just not lose them.

All I can say is, Grif as w/ Brob before him, were great players whom I enjoyed watching & cheering for! They will be missed but certainly not forgotten...

Diggs and EG are 2 completely different situations... but some fans are acting like they're the same.

Love Zim. He's No BS!!!! What you see is what you get. He'll tell you just what's on his mind. Great coach!! Seems like a great guy, from the little I was around him. Brian loved him.

We also crossed this bridge months ago. This wasn't Mike Zimmer's fault until suddenly right now.

Meanwhile, Spielman doesn't have a clue as to what he is doing and he continually gets a free pass and it's bizarre. Who resigned Diggs? Who brought in DeFillippo and his passing attack? Who was keeping Kevin Stefanski on the staff before Zimmer was here? Who signed off on firing Flip and promoting Stefanski to bring back the Brad Childress offense? Why was that such a good idea off signing Kirk Cousins? How does a BPA running back and a constantly retained intern override 2 major contracts on offense? Why do we draft BPA and not resign those players?

Who put us in cap hell, to go "all-in" each year our offense had a (biploar) new identity to overcome? If Zimmer is in charge of all of these defensive acquisitions, why has his defense changed so much in so little time, why doesn't anyone seem to fit expect UDFA CBs who walk on and start, and why don't we even resign the players he's expected to groom into... fuck... players we can't afford (or refuse) to pay anyway?

Spielman retained Stefanski into Zimmer tenure. Digg was reported pretty pissed about becoming a run team; I get that's Zimmer forte, but it was Stefanski's offense. And it was Kubiak's offense. Why didn't Digg's attitude change when Kubiak was promoted?

It's probably easy to deduce that Kubiak wants to run the ball too and that his finger prints must have really been all over our offense last season. That's probably for another thread...

I find it funny that all these off-season moves seem to reflect poorly on Zimmer.  Who's the one negotiating with these guys agents?  Who cut B-Rob after he took a giant pay cut?  There is one guy in charge of constructing this roster...  his name rhymes with Dick Schmeilman.

in hindsight, Wobby didn't want to be with Zimmer either so we're at 5
