It’s an interesting year for drafting a player with a Vikings connection. Of these 4 players, who do you think has the best chance of ending up in purple and why?

If we dont resign Harris IMO a starting caliber S becomes a reality early day 2.

I'd rank them Diggs, Spielman, Winfield...and a distant 4th for Moss.

Diggs because we need a corner, he's the kind of corner we like, and his value ranges right between our 1st and 2nd pick. But is being deep in Diggsies a good thing or a bad thing? Probably more good than bad. Spielman because he's a late rounder and Rick might value him a little higher than others. Winfield a little less likely because even though we need a young safety, I have a feeling he'll go before we pick in the 2nd. Just a guess though. Moss is possible, but this team has no business taking a TE as early as Moss will go.

I was thinking something similar, but I think Winfield could be an option if we let Harris walk in free agency.  I think it is a toss up with Spielman or Moss for least likely...  Rick may be reluctant to invest a pick in his son (may prefer to let him carve out his own path with another team) and we just invested a 2nd round pick in Irv Smith who looks like the real deal.

Yup, that's what I was thinking.  Diggs would be more likely at 25, but great Odin's bollock's, I hope we go lineman...O or D...there.

in the era of the top offensive coach having his son on staff,  the HC naming his son as co-DC,  we dont think that Spielman would drop a 6th or 7th rounder on his own son?  come on man!

I would love the drama of who would get to wear #84.  This has schism potential.  I voted Thaddeus.

Yes to Winfield & Moss. Hard pass on Diggs.

I wondered about Moss really because I’d read that he’s a pretty good blocker and thought maybe he’d be able to do some of the stuff Morgan does if we don’t re-sign him. I don’t mean all blocking and no catching as Dad Moss wouldn’t like that! What round are they projecting Moss in?

You may be right, but my first thought was that I would HATE to have my son working for me and have to make conflicted decisions. Keep him around and get accused of favoritism; cut him and he and the wife are pissed. No thanks!

how many moms dont want their baby boys around?   you think she'd be pissed if he had to cut him?  imagine if Rick let him get picked by some team a long ways from mommy?

Not a Vikings connection, but via Minnesota nonetheless.....WR Tyler Johnson? Could definitely use him to bolster the WR corps. As for the others, it'd be a tossup between Diggs & Winfield. We could definitely use both IMO.

I would be happy with Tyler Johnson if it were 3rd round. I watched several of Minnesota's games this year and thought he was a good receiver with a great NFL frame.
