RE: Andre Patterson, who has been with Mike Zimmer for years, there's a promotion of some sort brewing. Could see co-DC titles for both Adam Zimmer and Dre, or Dre in similar role that Gary Kubiak had with the offense last year except on defense.

Actually this might be good. There is a lot of trust with Andre Patterson from coaches and players. This might offer a helpful balance because Adam can develop and Patterson will be able to add his input. It might be easier for Zimmer to have someone else working with his son. It might be easier for Zimmer to loosen the reigns this way.
