More Details on Thielen's injury
Anyone else just utterly baffled by this? Football players don't wear metal cleats. They're plastic. How does a plastic cleat break through a shoe AND a sock AND skin deep enough to require stitches? It's just not adding up.
I'm also starting to worry that Thielen's only job today will be decoy. Hope I'm wrong.

The word is he's playing. I mean he got 4 stitches....it shouldn't be the end of the world. For one game, they can get that thing secured and he may not be 100%, but I'd guess he'd be somewhat close. He'll probably need to change socks a few times.
Obviously, I'm no doctor. Maybe its worse than I'm describing. But unless they are down-playing it on purpose for strategy, he should be able to play.
Pelissero mentioned the fact that Thielen is notorious for going all out in practice and this injury was a result of feet getting tangled.
The cleats may be plastic, but some are sharp and if they are going at it hard, it isn't unbelievable that he could have gotten raked across the ankle hard enough to tear the skin.

He's on that Taylor Heinicke shit, isn't he!?

We're on to you Thielen...
If you walk on pavement/cement in plastic cleats, it creates quite sharp edges. The cleats may be plastic, but some are sharp and if they are going at it hard, it isn't unbelievable that he could have gotten raked across the ankle hard enough to tear the skin.
