Thielen cleated. Gets stitches.
Huge sigh of relief. There was a lot of scary buzz about this yesterday. That it was a sprain or worse...I know cuts can be painful, but this doesn't sound nearly as bad as I was fearing....
Source said Adam Thielen needed stitches on his ankle yesterday after getting cleated in practice. Initial outlook is optimistic for Saturday; we’ll see how the Vikings handle him today.

Oh my lord have mercy. It's a good thing I have low blood pressure. Damn! Glad he is ok.
I'll take that over an ankle injury 10 out of 10 times...

funny how some reporters reported it was a rolled ankle. Glad it isn't that.
He's a gamer, I bet he plays.
Fans finally seeing Diggs, Thielen, Smith and Rudy on the field got a glimpse of the difficulty they present to defend.
I recommend AT gets double stitches of Spiderwire fishing line, gobs of superglue, and two or three layers of new skin badages. You're correct, I have no idea what I'm talking about.
I'd be shocked if #19 is out for the game - SKOL AT!
Could this end up being our version of Schilling's bloody sock?
He ought to put red ink on his sock from the get-go. Talk about mind games...

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Adam Thielen is expected to wear protective padding on his injured ankle in Saturday's Divisional Round game against the 49ers.Thielen was absent from Thursday's practice and isn't expected to do much ahead of Saturday's 4:35 PM ET kickoff after getting cleated at Wednesday's session. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported earlier Friday that the Vikings aren't sure how Thielen's ankle will "hold up" after receiving stitches. Thielen should suit up for Saturday's win-or-go-home Divisional Round contest, though how effective he'll be playing at much less than 100 percent is up for debate.SOURCE: Jeremy Fowler on TwitterJan 10, 2020, 12:58 PM ET
not a lot of extra skin around an ankle joint, i have a hard time seeing how a professional football play can go out and do what he does without pulling those stitches out.

But ankles are used to be taped pretty tightly. I'm no doctor, but wouldn't the tape hold everything together?
