Eric Kendricks still not practicing
Eric Kendricks still not practicing, but Dalvin Cook a full participantVikings linebacker Eric Kendricks injured his quadriceps in the Dec. 23 game against the Packers. He has not practiced or played since.
Kendricks remained out Wednesday, four days before the Vikings play their wild-card playoff game against the Saints.
I've been wondering about this since it happened. Patiently awaiting an update. We made it through an entire week and a game without an update on it...
He was hurt 2 weeks ago and is a major component to our defense. Our media hasn't said shit about it for a week and a half. It was pretty obvious it was serious when it happened. How has it not been a bigger deal than (finally) being notated by a national blogger 4 days before the game? How has local Viking coverage ignored the availability of a starting LB heading into the playoffs? I Just find it goofy an article like this drops and it feels like a surprise. When something is obviously going on with the injury (now that we know he didn't practice today), I think asking why folks with access haven't even simply asked for an update is a fair thing to raise. I know folks are dejected from the lack of momentum heading into the playoffs, but media mailing it in on important issues because we have bigger ones anyways seems like some crap. Obviously the team has known and worked around it accordingly, so it's not surprise to the guys working to win this weekend; fans on the other hand just shouldn't have been left with an impression that he even could play if it's as seriously as most figured it was.
He had an MRI scheduled according to post game comments. It's been a week and a half... somebody ask! The fact that today's update on it is "well, it looks like he wasn't practicing" is some serious bullshit. This is local media's playoff effort? We had to find out from Mike Florio and still don't have an answer to what's going on with Kendrick's injury?!
I posted on another thread that a woman on a facebook post claimed that she talked to Cook and he told her his shoulder was broken several weeks ago (Denver game maybe). I have no idea if that is true but Cook missed a lot of playing time and nothing definitive was reported by the Vikings or the media about exactly what the injury was that kept him on the sidelines.
When it comes to Viking players injuries you can't trust the media OR Zimmer
Yes I've been wondering about this since it happened. I've only caught bits and pieces of the team press conferences so I didn't catch if there were questions raised regarding his DNP status.
quad injuries are seldom quick to heal. When he changed to street clothes right after the injury that was a bad sign. No one wants to say anything but im thinking he is out for awhile
Should Zimmer tell Payton that his best Defensive Player won't play? Cuz it sure sounds like that is what some of you want.

also Cooks injury was described as something that was a pain tolerance issue and not something that could cause further damage by playing. a broken bone, especially one in the upper thoracic cavity area is certainly something that could lead to further damage if he was allowed to keep playing IM (uneducated) O.
Kendricks practiced today. Don't know if he was a limited or a full participant. But that is some good news.

Are press conferences the only source of injury information? If the head coach alludes to an injury in a presser is there is no alternative path for the media to get an answer? I don't think Zimmer is unique in the way that he handles talking about injuries - the way our media either takes his word at face value or refuses to play the game is unique and it's annoying.
Says every New England fan. Most teams do this and the NFL lets them. Why give the opponent information they don't have a right to just to keep fans happy?

And if they told the fans everthing today, would they keep clicking tomorrow?I'm not faulting Zimmer or the team on how they relay that information, in limited settings, to the media. Don't conflate local media's non-existent effort to get to the bottom of what comes out of a press conference with the team's right to be as vague as possible regarding injuries. They are two different things.
Bellicheck is asked if Julian Edelman will be available for the Wild Card game. Bill says some vauge ass "everyone is hurting this time of year" comment to blow it off. WEEI Boston get's Julian on the air A.S.A.P and asks him point blank if he's going to play. The answer is irrelevant; I just want that effort. Get to the bottom of this shit - even if it's just a bottomless pit with no definitive answer, jump in. It's the fucking playoffs.
Dalvin Cook just recently sat down and talked about his own injury. He says he's feeling fully healthy. In the spirit of this thread; that interview was conducted by Courtney Cronin of ESPN! What the **** do the sports reporters at the Strib even do?

Exactly! It's strategy...nothing wrong with keeping the opponent guessing as long as possible.

Great to see both Cook and Mattison at FULL participation both days, Cook is key, but Mattison is huge to have back as well.
