Zim are you kidding me. Step, Kub,? Again you left Cousins without help. How many times did you roll out Cousins to stop the pressure? How many times did you max protect? You kept going 5 on 4 on the o line. To me Green Bay had D Smith lined over center and delayed his rush just for a second creating a one on one with Bradberry who could not handle him. Not once when Smith Jr was on Rief side (who played horrible) put a hand on the DE, he just ran by him. How come no runs outside? We had this conversation before, way out coached!!! If a team with a ton of talent cannot win its the coach who is at fault bottom line.
it has become the norm whenever they play a team that isn't shit. This current group peaked two years ago, its not going to get any better.

Anyone remember the Bears DL dominating the Vikings OL last year?
Vikings will need a re-vamp in secondary and to continue to improve the OL. Reiff is terrible, Elf too. Bradbury had another bad game against a very good Kenny Clark.
Regardless of who plays QB, that OL is still a need. So is 3t. Last night was confirming.
Mike Zimmer has become Jason Garrett North. Beat bad teams, lose to good teams, never show up when anything real is at stake. You're gifted with arguably top 5 NFL talent and yet you can't even get within striking distance of a title.

Totally true but I don't know if they will really put money and effort into the OL. Last night will fade a bit from memory, the 10 or 11 regular season wins against weak teams will look better in hindsight, a few more Vikings will attend the Pro Bowl as 3rd alternates, and everyone will be saying how the offense made great strides.
Meanwhile, Zimmer will worry about his defense, protecting the vets he loves. Waive Rhodes, Griffen, Joseph?? Blasphemy!! I bet all 3 get nice restructured deals to stay a couple more years, as the Vikings hate having much dead cap. Then we'll need to re-sign Harris, Wilson, and at least one of Waynes or (preferably) Alexander. Zimmer will be pushing to get another CB and of course a 3T in free agency.
So there won't be much money, and hardly any at all if the Vikings throw a big contract extension at Dalvin Cook. I think improvement of the OL in 2020 is going to be dependent on three potential internal progressions:
- O'Neill switching to LT - not feeling as optimistic after last night
- Oli Udoh taking over at RT - maybe, but a big leap
- Dru Samia taking over at LG
