In retrospect...
Barr is an imposing physical beast, and I think his importance is often underappreciated; especially by a few posters here. Rivers looked about ready to crap his pants when he had Barr sprinting towards him on that intentional grounding penalty.
Is he worth all that money? Probably not, but I'm sure as hell glad he's on the team.

Mehhh, I'm over Barr but he's here for a long time. When he rushes you better hope he doesn't get hit by anyone. I've never seen him absolutely wreak a blocker like you see some of the other freak LBs do. But in his defense I don't think he's been sent to rush much this year with as much coverage as we've had to do.
He is pretty effective when rushing the QB. He just does not get the chance to do it very much. That's just our ultra conservative, low risk, defensive scheme.
Zimmer needs to use him a lot more as a pass rusher, I believe it would change their whole defense.

First game vs Atlanta, we send him on a blitz in the first series and he gets to Ryan. Yes! FINALLY, we going to use him as God intended...
Scouted him in college when it became clear we wouldn't land Mack...Not sure why Zim refuses to maximize Barr...but we aren't getting what we pay for because he isn't being used right...
