Leber comments on Rudy
Amongst the frustrations from last night, can we take a beat and appreciate the season Rudy is having. Dude hasn’t complained about his role all season, improved his blocking and makes plays whenever called upon. A positive attitude matters. #vikings

Seems like so long ago people were complaining about the overpaid has been TE
And many still have him on their cut list for this coming offseason.
Seems like bringing in a young stud lit a fire under the aging horse.
I was a Rudy doubter, but there's no debate he's having a good year. Made some great catches. The thing is he JUST turned 30 years old in November, so he's not that old (he just seems like he's been around forever). Not every team can have a Travis Kelce or George Kittle.

It isn't some sort of fire lit or sudden resurgence. It's simply opportunities.
1st 5 games, 1.6 targets/game.
Last 7 games, 4.7 targets/game.
Is he really playing at 270? Would explain his sloth like speed in the open field.
Biggest hands I've ever seen. His hands look cartoonish around a ball. Ball looks like a Nerf.

Rudy has benefited from AT out - no doubt...Said Dr Seuss
Ha, I make myself laugh.
He's had some nice catches, helped the team. He and Capt'n definitely have that basketball alley-oop throw/catch thing down.
Good veteran presence, been through the wars. Was obvious Bisi and Irv Smith were rookies on MNF. Seahawks really shut them down.
The 3rd down wobbler from KC Rudy nabbed was just as impressive as his TD; maybe even a harder grab.
The dude is a smart player with great hands. I'm a Rudy fan; hope he sticks around.

As long as he keeps separating in physical, above-the-rim situations and catching everything thrown to him, the weight is not a problem. Especially since we have another TE who can operate downfield.
We've done a nice job spending second round picks at this position.
