Seattle at Denver tonight on Prime....
Now is the time we need to start rooting against any NFC team that plays an AFC team. I'm dubious that Bo Nix is going to pull it off tonight against a Seattle team that needs a win to keep pace in the NFC West, but it is in Denver so 🤞. A little bye week help tonight and for the weekend would be nice.

Should have watched The Diplomat instead!
I did both lol!
The Diplomat was much more entertaining btw.
Seattle needed to do more to keep that running back who's energizing KC this year. Thats the kinda piece we're missing too since Cook in his prime.
I still cant help but think how Sammie could have thrived here long-term with a little better OL and a RB mate. I was wrong in not wanting to re-sign him.
Did you know Kerri Russell and Matthew Rhys were married? I didnt...

I've said it plenty of times, but I'll say it again: I don't believe Bo Nix is a good NFL QB. I think Sean Payton recognized his limitations early and built an offense around what Nix could do. Get him outside the pocket, emphasize short-to-intermediate throws, use his legs, and simplify the reads. After watching him struggle with basic accuracy on throws downfield early in his rookie season, Payton had to find a way to make it work. And after the investment Denver made in drafting him, he had every reason to try. I couldn't be happier to see that offense struggling while Payton is still calling the shots. 😂
As for Darnold, Seattle caught lightning in a bottle last year and rode it all the way to a Super Bowl. But one successful season doesn't mean a QB's weaknesses have disappeared. Injuries are real, and since returning, Darnold hasn't looked like the same QB. Some of those ghosts that showed up during his two games against Detroit and two against the Rams in Minnesota seem to be creeping back in Seattle. The running game also isn't providing the same threat it did last year, putting more pressure on Darnold to carry the offense as he works his way back.
That's the thing about the NFL: a great season doesn't automatically mean you've permanently solved a QB's issues. Sometimes the supporting cast, scheme, and circumstances are doing more of the heavy lifting than people want to admit. And when those things change, we find out a lot more about the quarterback himself.
The offensive play calling hid Darnold very well last year. They had a great run game and and a great D to lean on. If defenses were getting to Darnold, their offense just went to the run game and sheltered him.
That isn't working this year and Darnold definitely sees ghosts. Glad we didn't spend a fortune on him.

Payton sounds much less convincing that the offense is improving than KOC

A month ago Nix was the standard everyone was comparing JJM to. Now here we are.
A lot of standards have fallen a bit: Maye, Herbert, Darnold, Daniels.

The WR didn't run a good route as posted on the broadcast, but Sammy did the one thing he couldn't do there-- turned it over. Denver couldn't move the ball AT ALL in the second half but Darnold teed them up nicely for the GW FG.
Seahawks had a chance against DEN and SF the past two weeks, lost both. Chiefs up next for them.

That's schedule brutality right there...

Maye over the last 3 weeks has turned around. Competition or rebound?

Yeah, hard to say. QB play this year has been all over the place honestly. Its interesting to watch Minnesota's defense and then see some of the other incredibly passive defenses play. Either they don't have the personnel to make a strong pressing D work or they choose not to, the old bend but don't break and a prayer.
I think QB stats may be some of the most misleading or easily manipulated for a narrative of any position.

And maybe that’s all QB play has devolved to. Think about it. Who consistently is playing to either a personal or league standard?

Yah, that's a big one too...Like when we lost Shurmur big.
Losing the Energizer Bunny in SEA is huge - it would be like Lions losing Gibbs. A whole different game playing w/out him.
