Every guy listed is a downgrade from JJM. I have no clue what they do, but if it were me, I’d fire Teasley as he’s an idiot.

Vikings are going to ride or die with Murray this year. No way Herbert gets traded during the season. The plan for 2027 might be a guy like Drew Lock for a year or two that allows a high drafted rookie QB to sit. Hard to say.

All I've read and heard is how K1 is going to rock this offense with KOC and the surround. So lets start seeing it, honestly it needs to start happening this Sunday against Miami. IMO there's internal pressure for that to happen. I think the players might be in a bit of low level shock with McCarthy's trade and some fans so....time for the O to make an appearance at US Bank.

It would have to be a post June trade due to the cap hit. No way they can trade him this season or any time before June 1st

Yeah, not sure what the draw of another "vet QB" is. Wentz is better than anything available out there, Mullins or whomever. Knows the system, can run the offense, but limited.

Agree...I'm not sure why we're talking about a QB for this season. Maybe Teasley's comment about the recently-acquired 5th rounder helping us this year? That could also mean it may be used at the trade deadline for another position.

I do think the team will have interest in Justin Herbert next season if he wants out of LA. But there's a lot of football to be played. Reminds me of Tom Hanks' line from Apollo 13: "There's a thousand things that have to happen, in order, and we are on number eight. You're talking about number six hundred and ninety two."

How many veteran qbs does a team need? There are 2 already

Baker Mayfield is intriguing if he gets healthy right around the time Kyler's play would have fully convinced the team a trade is necessary.

EDIT- None of these are slam dunks I know. Just throwing out the possibilities.

My take, and the reason for the post, is that both Murray and Wentz are clearly injury prone. I thought we might have learned something after watching the disaster that Max Brosmer displayed last year against the Seahawks, Lions, etc. He is clearly a deer in the headlights 90% of the time and is not ready to play meaningful snaps yet (if ever). Looks like we have signed Brosmer to the 53 now, and as Teasley mentioned in his PC, nothing is imminent on the QB front beyond what we currently have.

Ask the Bears about the value having a viable/serviceable 3rd QB. Yeah I know the old adage that if you are down to your third QB you’re screwed anyways, but some teams seem to be better prepared for that scenario than others. I don’t want to rely on Brosmer for anything if both Murray and Wentz are injured.

I would not be surprised to see a Murray contract extension in-season or a if he plays poorly, a trade for an upgrade. If the defense continues to look elite, how is trading for a vet to make a run this season any better or worse than trading the farm for a rookie? None are good options but we've been blessed with an amazing defense THIS YEAR, so I lean towards the options that doesn't squander that. I also simply don't trust this Vikings front office and staff to identify, groom, and stick with a rookie QB.

You typically wont see players in newer multi year contracts traded or cut early into the contract due to all the money pushed out on the deals get accelerated into the next cap year. Maybe his deal isn't structured that way, but most are so hes likely not a viable candidate.
