Lions are 3 point favorites vs Minnesota next game
Our Minnesota Vikings opened up as 3 point underdogs in their upcoming game versus Detroit. The Lions are fresh off of a 20-17 victory over the Packers. I feel like we are getting no respect around the league. A win in Detroit will get us a little more respect going into the Buffalo game . 6-0 feels awesome ! I just hope our offense can improve a little bit and be less predictable come Sunday . Skol Vikes !!!

Public is going to HAMMER the Lions. line probably won’t hit 6.5, but it also wouldn’t surprise me.

Thats interesting...
Vegas is more bullish on the Vikings than Viking fans, not surprising.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Sharp money moves the line. Bookmakers are rarely prognosticators, just market makers most of the time.

Isn't there a built in 3 point line for homefield? Meaning it's pretty much a pick'em at 3 points?
Yup!

Didn't the NFL and many sports betting platforms move to the 1.5-2 point home field and shy away from the standard 3 point?

Maybe? If so, I hadn't heard that before

I looked it up because I swore they did. This is what it said.
Historically, Vegas used a blanket standard of 3 points for an NFL home-field advantage. [1]
However, modern sportsbooks and analysts no longer use a rigid 2- or 3-point rule for every team: [1]
Average value: The actual home-field value in the NFL has dropped to an average of roughly 1.5 to 2 points (and sometimes even lower depending on the season).
Team-specific adjustments: Books price each game individually based on power ratings, travel logistics, weather, and specific venue advantages (such as loud or extreme environments like Seattle, Kansas City, or Denver) rather than adding a flat number. [1, 2, 3]

Yes. Rule changes, more two point plays, and travel is now first class and less of an issue. And fans are often filling large sections of opponents stadiums as well. So HFA is now typically 1-2 points. But a raucous US Bank can be worth a little more from what I gather.
Defense wins championships. Vikings defense ranks 1st in the NFL. Lions defense ranks 32nd in the NFL. Lions by 3.

Flores has done well against the Lions, however Goff is hitting 83% against the blitz this year... something is going to break. Imo unless the O can put at least 3 in the end zone, we lose this one.

Not our blitz. Hell, we need a different term because what we do when we blitz is vastly different from the rest of the NFL.

Yep. I said it in another thread too but until some team solves the riddle that is our defense, I wouldn't bet against us in any game.
What Flores is doing reminds me a bit of when Philly first unveiled the tush push. It was so effective and borderline unstoppable that it helped them win the Super Bowl. Over time teams adapted and found ways to defend it (Flores himself had an innovative and effective counter), but until the code gets cracked I like our chances if the defense can stay healthy.

KOC has completely changed his offense and strategy to fit this team and Kyler's strengths. We're throwing shorter routes, letting him get the ball out quick, and leaning hard on the run game. We are not running anything close to the same offense we used with Kirk and Sam. Do you watch the games?
I guess I'm not seeing a ton of short routes and getting the ball out quick. I see a lot of Kyler hopping around in the pocket and then waiting to throw until someone is already open. Also, where are the designed rollouts and plays designed to utilize his ability to run in order to put pressure on the defense? I haven't seen much that looks tailored to K1's strengths.
