McCarthy to get his shot in New York
JJ is going to get his shot, very glad for him.....👍🤘
The Giants are planning to soon move forward with JJ McCarthy as their QB1, per @RapSheet.

New York might give McCarthy one more week to prepare behind Jameis Winston before becoming the full-time starter by Halloween. pic.twitter.com/8vUYObAfyM

Move on people. He's gone. This thread reads like we have a bunch of people who are on the "Housewives of Minneapolis"
Funny thing is how 10 games wasn’t enough to judge him but 5 quarters and they’re sizing his jacket for Canton.
Maybe we should pin this thread or possibly make a sub-board in the style of Tiger Beat for his adoring fans. “Win a date with JJ McCarthy!” “He’s so dreamy”.

Obviously, if we excel in the playoffs, nothing really matters, but I said it at the time that I thought a fifth was criminally low amount to accept in the trade, because the one catastrophically bad outcome was another Darnold situation where a QB leaves and does well, but our QB struggles. Its traumatic for the fanbase and its damning for the teams reputations. If you never trade him, no one sees him succeed or he succeeds or fails for you. There was no way it was worth the risk for a fifth.
That said I'm surprised how quickly the narrative has shifted. I would have thought the nine thing was one of those things that would have stuck harder. A lot of it is probably being pushed by the respective teams, but still... The vikings could have done a lot more to curb the bad publicity rather than fanning the flames.
NYG media team is pumping him hard all over SM. Got to sell some headline to keep fans butts in the seats when the season is falling apart right in front of them

Then, don't read it. Simple.
The kid was projected as our future, the potential franchise, finally a QB drafted early with all the expectations involved.
He got hurt, missed important early development, and took over in a season where he and Wentz both got pummeled behind our line. He looked rough, then had "mojo" that was both inspiring and comedically noisy, and was obviously improving until the hand (which had apparently been dinged for awhile) became untenable.
Yeah, it was infuriating. It was also telling that he immediately went into more QB coaching early in the offseason.
The "competition" was a pile of fictional garbage, and it's basically made the notion of KOC's QB developmental abilities to be a dark joke.
Now, a few weeks after being traded for half a pack of saltines, he's the headline of most sports sites as we fail to put up 20 points against a very weakened Colts team.
This is a big time of reflection on KOC, Teasley, and the possibility that we're just bolted to another slew of castoff QBs under the current leadership.
It matters, and it gets discussed. Read other threads.
The amount of time you are putting into writing about a QB who didn't excel for us (with multiple attempts) is hilarious. He couldn't beat out Carson Wentz or Murray! You're making a fake reality in your head that isn't there. Let the rage of our history of bad QBs go and focus on now.
Also your emotions are being baited by social media as NYG has to pump him up to keep fans involved as their entire season is falling apart. Big picture.
6-0! We have a run of tough games coming up so were going to find out what we are really made of vs this cakewalk early schedule.

Lol, an incredible transformation in ... (Checks watch) ... 3 weeks to a month.
Went from catastrophically immature to decidedly mature.
Maybe he figured some things out - but immaturity tends to show more when things aren't going your way rather than when they are. I am still tempted to say flash in the pan. He has had now 2 poor defenses or defenses in prevent. He is trending in the right direction. We will see. As I mentioned before I am fine if he succeeds.
A lot of Vikings fans on and off the board thought dumping him so soon for so little was really dumb. Early returns say it was. Let's wait and see what future returns say.
But the fans on this board who swore up and down that he's a career backup, sucks, will never figure it out, is holding the offense back, on and on and on... I can see where this thread could be triggering lol.
Why do I get the feeling this thread will suddenly become more bearable to some of you if he plays terrible this weekend 🤔

(for most) I think this thread becomes more bearable if K1 can become more consistent. More than anything JJM does or doesnt do.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

This! If Murray plays like he has a clue, the JJM discussion is over. Problem is, the offense is somehow worse with Murray then it was with Brosmer, Wentz and JJM last year.....The only thing keeping it afloat is they aren't (Knocking on every piece of wood I can find) turning the ball over.

This right here. If Kyler just can get it going, then JJM isn't much of an issue. I am a big JJM guy as many know, but if Kyler plays better and this offense plays better, then we can be happy for both and move along.

Ummm...various camp reports had him at least even with Murray, who's looked slightly better than boiled garbage after...oh, yeah, throwing a pic and getting injured in his first dozen snaps. The "competition" was utter bulls**t, the kid had zero chance of winning.
I heard on a sports show that JJM has led as many TD drives in 5 quarters (and one overtime) and the Vikings have had since Week 3.
That's definitely worth discussion, y'think?
Also...having "my emotions" explained to me by some online stranger that's never sat across a table from me, had an actual discussion, etc, just proves to me that critical thinking IS dead in this country.
If the dwarf king and the offense answer the call against the kittens this weekend, that end of the conversation gets much better...but, right now, Teasley and KOC look like utter f**kwits, as do the JJM hate club.
Have a blessed! 😁
