McCarthy to get his shot in New York
JJ is going to get his shot, very glad for him.....👍🤘
The Giants are planning to soon move forward with JJ McCarthy as their QB1, per @RapSheet.

New York might give McCarthy one more week to prepare behind Jameis Winston before becoming the full-time starter by Halloween. pic.twitter.com/8vUYObAfyM

It isn't his arm that is the question, but those few inches between his ears.
Adam and JJ are close off the field, not surprising he's his hype man now. He has a bunch of current Vikings that are rooting for him, he was popular in the locker room. Build up the hype, that's what the NFL media does....because then tearing it down gains more views and clicks anyway🔥
Jameis Winston SHOULD get the Giants Week 7 start over JJ McCarthy

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I’ve said it before and maybe it bears repeating.
2nd preseason game, McCarthy injured his ankle. We are told had it been a regular season game he would/could have gone back in.
Preseason game 3 comes and McCarthy is announced as starter and almost simultaneously is announced as unavailable.
I think that was the point the Rubicon was crossed. Teasley had zero investment in McCarthy and just witnessed a player who profoundly needed reps basically say “naw, I’m good”.
If you want to say KO failed McCarthy, that’s fine. But, McCarthy flat out quit on the Vikings.
The funniest part of this whole deal is McCarthy being elevated to near mythical status based on garbage time numbers against the 31st ranked D’s backups.
And now, my fingers will obey my brain on this subject.
Tea leaf reading says this is exactly what happened. JJ knew what he was doing and forced his way out. IMO the roster saw it and Teasley was forced to trade him.
FWIW Jennings is doing a different version of the same thing.
A trade would have gone down the next day, but no team wanted to take on the task and cost. When Dart went on IR, Vikings found a trade partner.
Giants at Texans this Sunday will be a better tell and worth watching.
Don't trade JJ.

Sounds like he played pretty well against a tough Texans defense too.
It wasn't just “sounds like”...he actually played very well. The touch and anticipation on the layered throws, the zip he put on the out routes, and the deep balls over the top were all encouraging. The running game took over in the second half, but McCarthy showed plenty of what some of us believed he could bring to Minnesota this season.
Honestly, it's starting to make me sick watching him do it elsewhere, knowing what we hoped to see here. Watching the video Sticky posted, it's also pretty evident his teammates and coaches seem genuinely happy to have him there. Hopefully, he keeps building on this performance and proves he can be the QB many of us thought he could be.
Maybe we can turn the 5th round pick we got for him into a young cost controlled qb with upside
Thats the best revenge he can have. Murray struggles after months of work in the offense, JJM is putting up respectable numbers after about 3 weeks in their system.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I've always liked KO but yeah it's pretty unreal our offense has been bad for most of 2 years now. I'm less concerned about the past and more concerned about where the answers are gonna come from on offense? Figure it out, KO! We're 6-0 and could have a real shot here.
He was lights out people. We haven’t seen a performance on the same planet this year. He had multi0le 40+ hits in the first half and a couple of hundred yards. He averaged like 18 to 20 yards a pass.
Just like nearly every franchise QB that’s ever existed, it’s taking time for him to develop. Minnesota fans can’t handle that. Obviously Vikings brass can’t either. If he continues to have a good year, I’d fire Teasley asap. I’ve waited decades for them to draft and develop a franchise QB like the best franchises do and this is what we get.
You know why I think it went south? I think JJ and likely a number of players, knew he was a far better starter than Kyler. The more Kyler did nothing the more pressure the brass had to move him. I don’t blame JJ at all if he wanted out so he could actually play somewhere. It’s obvious the Vikings gave up on him when they started Kyler ahead of him. I had high hopes for Kyler’s but he should be benched for Wentz asap.
It was very cool to see JJ have a nice game, it really was. Now would I say its as good as some hype masters want to say it is? No. But he was there only 27 days and he definitely helped them win that game with some big time throws. I knew the team would react around him they way they already have, full on lovefest. Harbaugh said yesterday after the win they are all in on the season now. 🔥
One man's trash is another man's treasure, I suppose. A little nauseating quite honestly, but the regime gave up on JJM. He's moved on and so have I with this 6-0 team. But I'll always root for this kid and wish him the best.
If it ends being anything remotely like Favre (drafted by Atlanta and traded to GB) type situation I’ll be so frustrated watching him. This is starting to be worse than the Darnold (which I completely absolved the team from) situation.

There are two categories of people in the JJ McCarthy discourse:
— Phil Mackey 🎙 (@PhilMackey) October 25, 2026
1 - The almighty ball-knowers who ALREADY drew a conclusion about JJ McCarthy’s career before his 24th birthday.
Many of these people clowned and dunked on anyone who remained curious.
2 - REASONABLE people… https://t.co/d4e1C0d3Ys
I'm sorry, kids, but it's looking pretty irrefutable that we traded our best QB, and KOC can't "raise" those young QBs he talks about "failing".
