Good to See Them, But...
#1
More of the same from the 1st teamers.  Poor pass protection with the dink and dunk offense, and run D is still pretty soft.  Overall, I think they played ok at best, but this shows how much they still need to improve on the OL.  Glad I watched, but I didn't see an improved anything.  Typical 1st preseason game, and good thing there's plenty of time before the "real" game 1.
Go Vikes!

There's definitely kinks to work out. Coach Zimmer wasn't very happy. Harrison Smith wasn't happy. Have to get to work and prepare for next game. The OL is still the key.  I liked seeing Coley, Adams and Cook.

I wanna see these guys on the OL when we can play Reiff as well. Tonight probably didn't calm any fans nerves about that group, but I wont panic - yet.

Note to self.  Remain calm this year.  Breathe.

Yup. And the thing is- we ARE the exact same team as last year. We upgraded at RB (since AP was hurt) and Sam has a year under his belt so those are 2 key positions. But the rest of the team? Nearly identical. Rome wasn't built in a day and I wasn't expecting some massive offseason overhaul but by the same token it's difficult to see us going from 8-8 to 12-4 or anything like that. There's a reason there is no buzz nationally around the Vikings this year.

BUT, whenever I have a blah feeling going in to a season we seem to beat expectations. Hope that's the case this year

maybe not from 8-8 to 12-4, but maybe to 10-6 or 11-5.  Afer all, they were a couple of plays away from beating the Lions twice.  its a fine line sometime between winning and losing.

Watching now...that's a good Bills D that McDermott has..they were miscast in Ryan's 3-4...impressed with Cook...Shumur O with some new formations...Wayne hurt on first play sucks...Griffen a beast...Barr playing at a different speed...

They may have ended up 8-8 but they finished 3-8 after a 5-0 start.  They look more like that 3-8 team than the 5-0 one to me.
