Like a funeral in Vikings Land...

Man...

Was just reading about the Twins and then came over here to a Vikings forum. Talk about polar opposites.

Find a way to enjoy something this season, maybe the Giants are a bit of a bounce-back?

I'll speak for myself: it just seems like the same ol' stuff with the Vikings. Last year was disappointing, that was supposed to be the year Minnesota was a top NFC team. Now this year, renewed optimism to begin and now its smelling a lot like last year. It just seems it never fails.

Should we all just enjoy the season somehow in a perfect world? Sure. Is there a lot of season left for things to change? Yes. But I've been a fan too long to not recognize (or at least in my opinion) that this is the normal script and it won't end well. I'm at the point in being a long suffering Vikings fan that I'm really just fair-weather now. And I'll just not watch if this continues, I'm not going to waste my time on it. A win against the Giants is not going to bring me back around. Its expected.

There hasn't been enough sunny days for Viking's fans. The clouds always come, sooner or later. Always.

Like a lot of folks, I've been a Vikings fans since I watched the first Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.  I can't even count how many times I said no more, not going to watch Vikings games anymore.  Disappointment after disappointment, year after year...and every year back at it again, refreshed and ready to go at it again.  As for me,  I really don't see this changing even if this current season bombs out.  Reload for the next season and go through it all over again.  It doesn't matter whether it comes with the changing of GMs or coaching staff, all I see on game day is the players wearing purple and gold uniforms with horns on their helmets.

Its depressing.  The Vikings are at best 8-8 and we wont be any better next year or any years after that as long as Cousins is our QB.

So with knowing that, we've got a major rebuild on our horizon.  Zimmer and likley Spielman, Rhodes, Smith, Griffen, Joseph will all be gone before we're able to build up for another run.

That's exactly the way I feel. Many of us, on this forum, who follow the Vikings through the long off season, hear about new coaches, schemes and players who are going to make things better. We wait and wait for the new season to bear the fruits of all these positive changes, only to see the same old crap.
I'm a Vikings fan for life, but I'm not really emotionally invested in the team.
It's just entertainment.

"Hi.  My name is Ralphie and I'm a Vikings fan."

Group: "Hi, Ralphie."

"Over my 50 years of frustration watching the Vikings, I always wonder what it would have been like to have all our favorite players on one roster...kinda like a Vikes all-star team...and why can't we get that type of roster for one year.  I'm not asking for a Dolphins undefeated season, just one where we win our conference, get a first round bye and have home field advantage through the playoffs.  Then play New England and dominate them for four quarters.  And bring the Lombardi home to Minnesota.

Anyway, that's my dream.  Thanks for listening."
