Missed Opportunities
#1
Here's a couple tweets/clips that show missed opportunities. Look how open Diggs is on the 1st. And how uncovered the flat is on the 2nd.

a lot of the sacks he didn’t have time. but watching video, Kirk was gunshy on a ton of plays. Diggs SHOULD be pissed!!! I sure am. why roll out, stare an open WR & TE in the face then throw it incomplete to Ham? Yes Kirk probably takes 4/5 of these sacks, but with the missed opps this game is still way different.

I miss a true winner (Teddy)... or shit, ANY qb that will just take a chance like Pepps. what has cursed us?

The Minnesota Vikings...

Land of ice and snow? Or land of awful OL's where QB's come to get shell shocked..

That first one, dunno, that is a hell of a throw to hit diggs deep on the back side.

On play #1, it sure does look like he is more concerned with getting the ball out quickly, than actually scanning the field.  Strangely, he SHOULD have seen Diggs first, as he scanned from right to left.  But then he settles on the short route- and the defense jumps it early (reading his eyes and posture, even before he has thrown the ball).

these are just painful.  like the 5 others people have posted.  Particularly the swing across field back to Ham on the roll out.  He misses a WIDE OPEN IRV by a mile. Could have been 30-40 yard play.

A couple of those and the running game gets going. Its a different game

EXACTLY! He sees Irv or Diggs on just 2 or 3 of those sacks or roll outs, we suddenly are on the other side of the field!? He hits AT19 on that first drive its a tie game... but the thing that matter is on those rollouts, what is kirk seeing? he has 2/3 guys staring at him WIDE OPEN!? I won't kill him for those sacks, because although guys were open he was getting killed pretty quickly which means I don't know exactly what he is seeing. But on those rolls, he had time, positioning, and guys looking RIGHT AT HIM. GET OUT THE BALL KIRK. THEY ARE PAID TO CATCH.

Important question for consideration:

Are we under the impression that KC can't / won't improve in the near future?
That in effect we are seeing his "ceiling"

I feel like we are seeing a QB  that is playing in a shell. He looks like he's playing contained, and trying to not make a mistake. He is capable of hitting those throws, he's just running for his life, shell-shocked, and probably a little more than confused right now.

I would love to see him with a consistently clean pocket, and a better game plan.
