I mean it’s not like there is a interesting Option out there

imagine if there was a QB out there with great mobility and a rocket for an arm.

no im not talking about Sloter.  I am talking about a guy who has proven it, coming within in a pass of a super bowl

btw this same magical QB’s last actual genuine suitor?  gary kubiak

a QB who could use his mobility on boot legs and when the OL is struggling, that ability gives us more than what we got.

putting it out there if Cousins is the reason we are 3-3 after 6, when good QB play pits us at 5-1

Its all hindsight now. All of it. The reality is the team is stuck with Cousins until his contract expires.

Its kind of been like that for years with the Vikings.  What were the options even going back to the Ponder days. The Peyton Mannings of the world only come around once or twice a decade and if your drafting in the teens or later year after year your not getting a sniff of the high end QB's in the draft.  Yes you may get lucky with a Mahomes or a Dak Prescott in the later rounds but those picks pan out even less than the top picks.  That leaves trades or free agency.  Good proven QB's NEVER get traded and its always the Clevelands or the Jets of the world that end up with the high dollar FA's.  When I heard Cousins chose Minnesota I was thrilled, partly because he was the best QB the Vikings had on roster since Favre and partly because what is out there in the market at QB at the time and for the future.  I dont blame the Vikings for paying Cousins because that is what the market for a starting QB is, like it or not or whatever your feelings for Cousins it is what it is.  That is what any team is going to pay for a QB.  Like Sticky said the reality is the Vikings are stuck with him until the contract expires.  I would like to hear what others think were viable options for the Vikings.  And I don't mean Sloter or keeping Keenum as options.  Sloter is on this third team and has never made it off the practice squad so there is something with him that other teams other than just the Vikings coaching staff sees.  And Keenum is what he is a career backup that is on his second team since leaving the Vikings and has just been benched and replaced by a rookie so those are not options.

I think the original post is possibly referencing Kaepernick???

No thanks, and it's not a "kneeling" thing.  I just don't think he's any good.

you got to have a lead before taking a knee is a positive trait in a QB,  I agree that kapernicks one trick was exposed and when he was forced to play more conventional he wasnt anything to write home about.   couple that with the circus around him... no Fn way.

I liked Kaepernick when he was in his prime - 5 years ago - and I don't think his political actions disqualify him from playing. But he hasn't suited up in 2+ years now and I think his ship has sailed.

I personally think Kaepernick, if he were still playing, would be a top half QB in the league. Two straight championship games as a 2nd and 3rd year player. What happened to him is criminal, but he won't get a chance. The NFL doesn't have the balls to risk pissing off pretend-patriot america.

the bigger problem is for the team that would give him a chance...if he doesnt meet expectations you are stuck,  how would you ever get rid of him with his political stances and minority status?  never mind the public opinion issue with him being a  martyr for his cause already.  he made himself unemployable by drawing all the attention to himself.

I don't care if Hitler is taking snaps from Goring, and passing to Himmler...I want a damn Lomarbdi trophy before I die.

I don't give a damn about Kaep's politics, I just don't think he's any good

If you want to have a run first team then you need a better offensive line.  They do good against bad run defenses.  But when they face a top notch run defense there is no adjustment.
The Vikings should have went to short passes and hurry up offense early.  After the first pitiful series.
4 OCs and 4 systems in 4 years.
Meanwhile the defense has the same system and DC since 2014.
Is it a wonder the offense is confused?
