Considering Cousins guarantee thru 2020 how likely is it that there would be a coaching change even if 2019 is a dissapointment? what coach would want to come in and be saddled woth Kirk for a year?
Question for Geoff Nichols

He’s probably already on staff... Stefanski

A lot would depend on RS' fate...New GM will want their own staff. But lets hope KC, Zimm and KS all get a Lombardi here before that happens. I refuse to give-up @ game 3, in spite of the broken record of Vikings losses and how those losses unfold.

what’s the point in replacing Rick with the hiy he hored as his assistant? And Stefanski would suceed as coach after a hypothetical dissapointing 2019?

I’m not sure what logic and/or confluence of events would
lead to Stefanski being a HC of the Vikings if you assume that Cousins is a disappointment. That just seems like “Stefanski disappointed at his job in making Cousins workable, so we’re going to promote him?” To answer the original question, I don’t think any prospective HC would care at all to be “saddled” with a veteran mid level QB for a year. That’s about the least amount of burden possible and there’s the built in safety net that he’s at least mid level.
