In case no one sees them... I wanted to share them again.

2 things that don't seem to be getting alot of attention... are Stephanski's stupid play-call on first and goal (at the end of the game) and Bailey's 2 missed kicks.  

If Bailey doesn't blow them both (yes, a 47 yard extra point is not ideal... but it's still- basically- a 47 yard FG: something that an average NFL kicker should make 9/10 times), then we're only down by 1 point.  Knowing Zim, he would probably demand that we run the ball 3 times and then kick the FG (if we didn't score).  That would've (I think) run the clock down to the 2-minute warning... and used up all of GB's time outs.  Then we kick the FG to go ahead... and trust our defense to stop Rodgers.  IF we had scored on that ill-fated pass, GB would've had even more time to score... and STILL would've only needed a FG (since we were down by 5, a TD and XP only puts us up by 2).  Yes, we probably would've gone for the 2-pt... but, even if we make it, GB could tie the game up with a FG.  I like our chances in OT, since our running game had worn GB down.  

But, since we missed those 4 points... we HAD to go for the TD (one way or the other).  That "need" led to Cousins- AND Stephanski- making a terrible decisions.

I don't really knock Stephanskis play call.  Yes the Vikings had been running the ball down the packs throat, so what do you think the Packers defense was looking for ?  My guess would be another run.  That play was all on Cousins.  Its first down, if its not there throw the ball into the 10th row.  Like Leber said Monday morning it was a gottcha play expecting the packers to stack the box to stop the run.

Yup...it was.  Baily was 1/2 on FG attempts.

Yeah, I don't know whos assignment it was to cover the GB player, but Cousins had some end or LB on him each time.  Fix it or lose the play.

I have no problem AT ALL with Stefanski's play call on 1st and goal. It was a boneheaded, rookie ass throw by Cousins. Just stupid. Its 1st down.....throw it away......you cannot do what he did.

I thought Stefanski called a good game. The players in our passing game failed to execute.

The one exception is I'd still like to see more dump-offs to the RBs. But it's a work in progress.
There is a lot of blame to go around after that loss. It was one of the more frustrating games in awhile. Really hope we bounce back big against Oakland this week (I think we will!).

I agree it was a bad playcall, but I bet Stephanski didn't coach up KC to "just randomly chuck it near a receiver" if the play isn't working.  Bad play call, but the execution of the play by our QB ruined it.  The pick was on KC.

I think the Vikes need to resign Vedvick to remind Baily how to kick again.  Man he sucked.
